The Financials Functional Architect is the “go to” implementation leader, expected to provide expert guidance and delivery for Financials engagements. This individual serves as the billable functional lead on Workday Financials implementations. This person is a senior Workday Financials product expert who works closely with Engagement Managers, Managers, and functional area leads. This person will provide overarching guidance and leadership on Financials engagements to ensure a robust and complete solution that meets customer needs and allows for future enhancements with limited rework. The Financials Functional Architect will report to the Financials Delivery Director.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Solution Delivery
o Lead multiple, concurrent Workday Financials implementations
o Deliver Foundation Data Model (FDM) design sessions on Workday Financials Implementations
o Oversee all functional areas on assigned implementations, ensuring efficient and accurate design and configuration of the delivered solution
o Utilize CynergyTM methodology to deliver Workday Financials implementations
o Mentor junior project resources by providing guidance allowing them to learn new skills and functional areas, lead customer sessions, and configure the solution
o Serve as an advocate and escalation point for the EM and functional team and ensure issues are being addressed
o Help team to understand and adhere to methodology and provide feedback to appropriate parties internally to support continuous enhancement of our tools and process
o Continuous commitment to the ongoing optimization of the CynergyTM methodology, which includes driving team members to keep these tools current
o Ensures cohesive structures and project communications are in place for cross-functional delivery between their area and the following areas: HCM, Payroll, Integrations, Financials, Organizational Change & Training, Data Conversion, and Reporting
o Conduct internal Quality Assurance for Financials implementations
· Team Leadership
o Assist engagement/project managers and team members when needed to identify
project needs and develop solutions and strategies
o Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels
· Workday Knowledge
o Actively participate in the Workday Product Lead Program
o Attend regular Workday KSS calls for Financials product areas
o Maintain Workday certifications through the biannual update process
· Sales Support
o Assist Solution Architects with estimating projects, as necessary
o Participate in Sales Orals meetings for proposed assignments
• Assisting with or reviewing estimates for Change Orders in functional areas
• Participating in discussions regarding functional areas that may come into scope for project or customer
Experience/Education:
o Current Workday Financials Certification
o Foundation Data Model (FDM) Certification
o Possess 3+ years of Workday Financials implementation experience
• Completed at least 3 full lifecycle Workday Financials implementations
• Led at least 2 Workday Financials implementations
o Possess project management and/or team lead experience
o Ability to travel up to 25%
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
o Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments.
o Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished.
o Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed
