Financials Senior Principal Consultant/Functional Architect

The Financial Functional Architect is the “go to” implementation leader, expected to provide expert guidance and delivery for engagements that include Workday Financials. Serving as the billable functional leader on Workday Financials implementations, this person is a senior Workday Financials product expert who works closely with Engagement Managers, Managers, Financial functional area leads and senior customer resources. This person will provide overarching strategic guidance and leadership on engagements with Workday Financials to ensure a robust and complete solution that meets customer needs and allows for future enhancements with limited rework.

Responsibilities:

· Solution Delivery

o Provide functional leadership on multiple, concurrent Workday Financials implementations

o Oversee all Workday Financial functional area leads on assigned implementations, ensuring efficient and accurate design and configuration of the delivered solution

o Review and anticipate cross-functional impact of design decisions across not only all financials functional areas, but also across HCM/Time and Absence/Payroll/Integrations

o Utilize CynergyTM methodology to deliver Workday Financials implementations

o Continuous commitment to the ongoing optimization of the CynergyTM methodology, which includes assuring team members keep tools current and driving innovation for new ones

o Ensures cohesive structure and project communications are in place for cross-functional delivery between Financial functional areas and other non-finance related workstreams

· Team Leadership

o Partner with Engagement Managers (EM) and Portfolio Directors (PD)

o Act as a sounding board and provide ad-hoc advice for EM and leads

o Serve as an advocate and escalation point for the EM and Financial functional team and ensure issues are being addressed

o Help team to understand and adhere to methodology, and provide feedback to appropriate parties internally to support continuous enhancement of our tools and processes

o Mentor junior project resources by providing guidance allowing them to learn new skills and functional areas, lead customer sessions, and configure the solution

o Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels

o Provide feedback to managers to facilitate practice growth and development for project team members

o Ensure that issues and risks are being discussed openly with the appropriate people

o Conduct internal QA process

· Workday Knowledge

o Certified in Financials Core, Medium Enterprise, Advanced/Composite reporting and at least 2 additional certifications. Must be able to lead in each of these areas.

o Experience delivering FDM

o Attend regular Workday KSS calls for Financial product areas

o Maintain Workday certifications through the biannual update process

· Sales Support

o Assist Solution Architects with estimating projects, as necessary

o Participate in Sales Orals meetings for proposed assignments

o Assist with or review estimates for Change Orders in Financial related functional areas

o Participate in discussion regarding Financial related functional areas that may come into scope for project or customer

Skills and Requirements:

o Possess 4+ years of Workday implementation experience and have completed three full Workday Financials implementations

o Required characteristics: clear communicator, fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments while working well with and across teams to get things accomplished

o Possess Sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects

o Experience gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, testing and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements

o Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively manage customer expectations

o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field

o Ability to travel up to 50%
