What you bring

  • Bachelors degree in Business with a concentration in Human Resources, or related field or comparable degree, or equivalent experience, MBA and CCP preferred

  • Minimum 5-7 years of compensation design experience with 1-2 years experience at the manager level preferred.

  • Experience in leading complex compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, equity compensation, Job Architecture or Job Evaluation

  • Experience in salary structure or incentive plan design

  • Knowledge of US and Canada laws and regulations related to compensation

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including handling large databases and creating Excel charts

  • Strong knowledge of compensation benchmarking, survey participation, and salary recommendations

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships

  • Experience working with senior leadership and influencing decision-making

Bonus skills and experience

  • Experience with Workday

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)

What success looks like

  • Design and implement competitive compensation programs that align with the Colliers’ overall goals and objectives

  • Analyze and evaluate job descriptions to determine appropriate salary ranges and market competitiveness

  • Provide direction and support to HR business partners, managers, and employees on compensation-related matters, e.g. advise on salary recommendations for promotions, lateral movements, etc.

  • Oversee survey participation and keep abreast of salary survey and trend policies and practices in partnership with consulting organizations

  • Act as a project SME for critical projects such as integrations, transitions, etc. to ensure alignment in compensation structure for acquired entities with Colliers

  • Work closely with HR business partners to ensure compensation programs support the recruitment, retention, and development of talent

  • Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure data accuracy in bonus and merit plan assignment

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation programs, pay transparency and pay equity

  • Compensation Processes:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day administration of compensation programs, including the annual merit review process and bonus programs

  • Act as a Project Lead for the Job Architecture project in partnership with external consultants, the internal project team, business stakeholders, and senior leadership

  • Ad-hoc Projects:

  • Support with compensation philosophy design

  • Support with data integrations of acquired entities into Workday

  • Conduct Workday testing for functionalities, on a need basis
