Job Description Summary:

Community Health Center, Inc. Job Description:

The IT Business Applications Analyst (IT BAA) effectively collaborates with operational stakeholders, vendors, and business partners to lead in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new projects and system enhancements as it relates to business operations. The role works in close coordination with a diverse group of stakeholders in understanding business systems, integration dependencies, and workflow and looks for opportunities to streamline processes and/or maximize the utilization of the applications.  This role primarily supports the Workday application and its clients in Payroll, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Purchasing, and Grants departments.  The IT BAA may also work on other business and systems initiatives as needed. 

Reporting to the Manager of IT Applications, the IT BAA acts as the subject matter expert for assigned areas, having a good working knowledge of the system data structure, system functionality, user roles and permissions, workflow processes, integration dependencies, and reporting tools.The role is responsible for the ensuring business requirements are gathered with functional leads, vetted, tested, and documented and then changes to the system are thoroughly tested per IT standards.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in coordination with operational stakeholders to understand business requirements and business drivers and to translate them into technical and system requirements.  Serves as a liaison between users, the business applications, IT, and leadership teams.
  • Creates workflows of business processes to show relationships between systems and integration dependencies.
  • Troubleshoots application issues or concerns in a timely manner.  Provides requester updates on a regular basis until issue or concern is resolved.   Resolution is documented in IT ticketing system or in technical documentation as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends and best practices in Workday and makes recommendations for improvements and /or enhancements in alignment with IT strategy and roadmap.
  • Coordinates system upgrades and application enhancements with functional leads ensuring functionality and integration dependencies are thoroughly tested.  Changes to production environment are documented and presented to IT’s change management committee prior to implementation.
  • Provides regular statues of work assigned and effectively communicates at all levels in the organization with strong oral, written and negotiation skills.
  • Works with project leader to develop requirements work plans, identify task dependencies, develop estimates and determine resource skill requirements; support risk management and change management activities.
  • Identifies, refines, and accurately articulate the business objectives and value proposition of assigned initiatives. Brings alternative perspectives and influence consensus among stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor applications and recommend improvements and ways to increase efficiency.
  • Develops reports and/or provide application guidance and specification necessary in developing customized reports; coordinates system activities with user and internal departments to ensure that the data is correct and system integrity is maintained
  • Demonstrates solid working knowledge of Workday Security, Integrations, and Business Process Configuration and key modules to support HR, Payroll, and Finance/Accounting.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Quickbase, or other relational database application.
  • Responsible for the development and/or maintenance of thorough system documentation.
  • Proactively provides trending and performance data to support critical business decisions. 
  • Works collaboratively with functional leads to implement and monitor improvements.
  • Encourages, assists and fosters development of co-workers’ skills and proficiency.
  • Participates in ongoing Quality Improvement efforts at CHC.
  • Complies with and ensures annual trainings protocols are followed and completed on time especially in regards to workplace safety, security and compliance procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Workday experience in business processes, security, integration, HR, Payroll, and Finance

  • 3-5 years of technical application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience.

  • Proficient working knowledge and experience in Workday Security, business process configuration,  and Integration
  • 3-5 years of Application experience preferable with Workday HCM, Payroll, and Finance or similar HRIS/Financial application package (Peoplesoft, Oracle, SAP). Knowledge of grants is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of relational databases (Quickbase, Microsoft SQL, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, analytical, and general problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills.  Able to communicate at all levels in the organizations, business partners, and vendors
  • Strong desktop skills including Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to adapt to changing priorities where immediate action may be require
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Time & Attendance, Human Resources and General Financial software
  • Experience in primary care business practices or outpatient/ambulatory care
  • Adept at transforming strategic vision into an operational model
  • Superior judgment, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of applications integrations via API, Web-hook, or other methods
  • Project Management skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflict, maintain issues list, and manage a project plan)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Minimal physical effort.  Must be able to operate computer and telephone continuously. Regional travel as necessary.
