JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Benefits Analyst position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of the global group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.). This position should look at consolidating and delivering the global benefits administration work . The analyst continually investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors benefits administration.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting with enrolment and termination of employees in various in benefits programs, like life insurance, private health care and pensions with providers and brokers
- Answering benefits queries from employees
- Answering benefits questions from the Payroll and Finance Departments
- Entering benefits purchase orders with supporting documentation
- Filing invoices electronically and coordinating with Finance Department for payment
- Coordinate and submit forms to brokers and providers
- Investigate and document benefits processes for outsourcing to HR Shared Services Teams
- Perform audits by checking spreadsheets and reports against secondary sources
- Work with wider Global Benefits Teams answering queries and cooperating on projects
- Assist Benefits Managers with completing policy renewals by gathering data on employees from a variety of sources for health, life and pension plans
- Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
- Manage administration and process flows for all LOA and Disability programs for US
- Provide strong expertise as it relates to legislation, education, policy and practice
- Assess and stay abreast of applicable leave laws and regulatory changes and provide recommendations for policy and process modifications
- Ensure quality and service delivery including accurate system updates, coordination with applicable parties for timely payments, etc.
- Partner with HR Management to address escalated employee leave matters and recommend solutions to prevent future implications
- Analyze monthly and quarterly reports and make recommendations to direct manager to improve leave practices
- Â Well versed in all applicable leave related laws and regulations including the complexities of disability leave, short term disability, long term disability, FMLA, military leave, and mandated state/local/provincial leave processes in North America
- Â Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with exceptional communication.

- Experience with Workday highly desirable or other HRIS equivalent is mandatory
- Experience of international benefits desirable, but US benefits experience is a must
- Knowledge of benefits contract language.
- Knowledge of all pertinent US federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
- **Flexible to work in US shifts**
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field
- 6-8 years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience in support US benefits programs
- CEBS , CBP, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP professional designations preferred.
