Job Title

Sr Payroll Analyst

The Senior Payroll Analyst provides support for in place North America payroll systems and processes, drives requirements gathering and implementation of payroll administration to additional geographies, and provides overall reporting, analytics, and business process improvement for the human resources function in the areas of payroll, benefits, and other HR related metrics.

**Workday Experience Required**

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures sound payroll controls are maintained and followed in compliance with existing internal/external governance controls

  • Supports year end reconciliations and fillings through data analysis and reporting

  • Completes annual government filings by auditing employee data, compiling data, and making submissions

  • Works closely with the finance team to provide payroll reports for posting to the GL, manage billings for portfolio companies and various reconciliations

  • Assists with the inventory of international payroll processes to identify efficiencies and streamlined processes for the countries Workday presently supports

  • Assists with the setup and testing of international payrolls to ensure payroll postings are accurate

  • Inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions

  • Oversees the processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments

  • Maintains rates in Workday for benefit plans for proper withholding for payroll

  • Submit reports to third party tax vendor for submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports.

  • Reconciliation of tax payments by third party vendor

  • Post calculated data in automated payroll system, prepares and issues checks according to payroll schedule, preparing and issuing off-cycle manual checks as required.

  • Accurately enter payroll data, such as direct deposits and W-4’s, and Kronos Time System entries such as missing punches, historical edits, approvals and sign offs.

  • Maintains payroll and enrollment files and send electronic feeds for 401(k) program, reconciling reports for accurate content and deductions, ties data to year end W-2’s. 

  • May provide work direction to IT developers for updates to Workday related to payroll and benefits

  • Assists in identifying, developing, implementing, and supporting process improvements within a shared services team

  • Partners with shared service groups to ensure coordination of work, best practice and information sharing, problem resolution, and business process improvement

  • Develop and maintain detailed workflow documentation of the standard shared services procedures

  • Assists payroll director with special projects as assigned such as payroll and human resources due diligence requirements for M&A

  • Assists in preparing budgets, projections, and special reports for senior management in relation to payroll, benefits, and other human resources related data and metrics

  • Collaborates on international compensation including expatriate assignment compensation and tax issues

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent

Experience:

  • Five to Seven (5-7) years of experience with payroll processes, regulations and systems

  • Experience working for a global company

  • Working knowledge of employment tax, generally accepted accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements

  • Global payroll experience preferred

  • Workday payroll experience strongly preferred

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, regulations and processes

  • Experience with analyzing complex issues and delivering appropriate solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to influence others and resolve conflict

Target Hiring Range

: $66,435.00 – $87,686.00
