The Director of People will lead a team of HR Managers, Generalists, Administrators, and Leave Coordinators to grow engagement, develop a cohesive people strategy, and implement programs and solutions that are aligned with business goals and objectives. As a trusted advisor to the business, this role will provide leadership to a team who will translate business strategy and objectives into talent and workforce plans. This position will collaborate and partner with senior business leaders to understand the work they do, the challenges they face, and the goals they are advancing and leverage this insight to guide, challenge and develop this team to design and implement HR solutions that support the success of the business.

 

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an office location may be required.  However, this position is permitted to work at an office location if requested by the team member.
  • Develop strategies, programs and solutions that optimize team member performance, organizational culture and engagement and advance organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership to the HRBP function to be a trusted partner and advisor to business leaders by providing expertise and consulting on people solutions including talent management, organizational design and development, performance management, talent development, team member engagement and team member relations.
  • Partner with the HR leadership team to formulate, develop and implement people and talent strategies to achieve the organization’s vision, mission, and goals, and to create value to its stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage legal risk; ensure manager and team member compliance with company policies and procedures, and governmental regulations.  Collaborate with leaders, legal and key stakeholders to ensure that employment actions, decisions and investigations are made following a process that is fair and in compliance with all State and Federal Employment laws.
  • Identify key people trends and insights using HR analytics and external best practices to develop customized and well-informed tactics for driving desired behaviors and business outcomes.
  • Lead and develop a team of HR Managers, Generalists, Administrators, and Leave Coordinators that support Team Member Relations and Leave of Absence.
  • Participate as an active member of the HR community, building relationships across the HR team and supporting other HR initiatives and projects.
  • Serve as a champion for Diversity and Inclusion, partnering with business leaders to implement and monitor the success of key D&I initiatives.
  • Oversee HR Administration including maintaining systems, personnel records, and ad hoc team member requests.

  • Demonstrated success developing effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with diverse client groups.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive major initiatives through the organization and influence decision makers at all levels.
  • Ability to diagnose and successfully handle organizational development issues.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator.
  • Excellent consulting, coaching and conflict management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, group, process, and influence skills.
  • Experience in leadership development and being a trusted advisor to Sr Leader level.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, etc. which govern employment policies and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand, interpret and act on information promptly and effectively.
  • Open and receptive to ongoing feedback aimed at improving performance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications or Business
  • A minimum of 5+ years directly applicable HR experience, most recently as an HR Director, and/or an equivalent combination of advanced training and experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to influence others
  • Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices

Preferred:

  • SPHR/PHR/SHRM-CP certification
  • Experience with Workday

Targeted Compensation: $165,000 – $200,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan
