Job Description Summary
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Human Resources Manager to join our HR People Partner team. This position reports to the Sr. Director, People Partnering. Operating in a highly dynamic and transformative environment, this role will be the HR People Partner for 11 commercial brokerage markets within the Central United States supporting roughly 700 U.S. employees. This role will also assist in and contribute to HR projects and initiatives across the People Organization.
The ideal candidate is highly strategic, organized, flexible and has the ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality. This candidate must have a demonstrated aptitude and desire for working well with people and jumping in to contribute in an agile and fast-paced environment.
The role requires significant business orientation, proven ability to influence at a leadership level, keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. In addition, the role requires high levels of accountability, adaptability, and collaboration.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Build strong trusted partnerships with the markets within the Central Region. Act as HR liaison to the business, trusted advisor and sounding board for managers, and direct employees on various human resources policies, procedures, laws, and state and federal regulations
- Work with leaders to understand their organization and people needs, building effective HR strategies to support those needs and execute on plans with actions aligning to the team’s goals and HR objectives
- Lead and drive change, in partnership with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) team to develop an inclusive and respectful culture that reflects the commitment and values of the organization
- Provide analysis and recommendations for market-level organizational change, help set direction and provide appropriate resources
- Proactively identify future team needs and develop long-term plans to support business objectives
- Provide day-to-day guidance to managers and employees (coaching, career development, disciplinary actions, policy interpretation)
- Partner with Employee Relations team to respond to and facilitate employee relations issues as they arise to resolve conflicts, enhance team effectiveness, and ensure support of organization changes and business plans
- Implement change management strategies focusing on effective communication and impact assessment to the organization
- Build strong partnerships with the HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Management & Diversity, HR Shared Services, Employee Relations) to help implement all HR initiatives and strategies
- Collaborate with other People team members on projects as neededÂ
- Manage other special projects on an as-needed basis
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in progressively responsible HR roles, preferably in a corporate environment and/or supporting Sales teams
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated success operating as a strategic HR People Partner
- Proven record leading and delivering high quality HR services across many disciplinesÂ
- Experience working with and influencing senior leadership
- This position requires an experienced, data-driven, analytical, collaborative and influential HR professional who can work effectively within sales and support teams
- Self-starter, highly motivated and achievement-oriented
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
- Ability to translate business objectives/priorities into a corresponding people plan
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to craft complex communications to a variety of audiences and levels
- High degree of business acumen; results-oriented with an ability to work independently
- Proven success utilizing employee attraction, engagement, and retention strategies
- Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement new projects and programsÂ
- Ability to maintain a strict code of confidentiality and discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Human resources experience working within an HR Shared Services model
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment law (IL, MN, IN, OH, MO, MI, TX)
- Experience with large-scale organizations change efforts, as well as knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
- Experience with large-scale team integration and reorganizations
- PHR / SPHR certification
- Experience with Workday
- Demonstrated competency in Excel and PowerPoint
