The Human Resource Information System (Workday) Analyst, reporting to the IT Information System department, is responsible for the effective design/configuration, implementation, communication, maintenance, compliance, and reporting of employee data and ongoing management of the HRIS/Payroll System, Workday as well as other HR systems. The HRIS Analyst will be the functional expert for the organization’s HRIS/Payroll systems and will ensure uptime and support for all HRIS procedures, reporting, and business processes.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Independently identify, research, and validate innovative solutions applying concepts of appropriate methodologies
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Anticipate and resolve issues/barriers that may impede success
  • Meet or exceed internal and external client requirements with respect to time, cost efficiency & business value
     

Business Analyst/System Support

  • Provide support for deployed HR applications including, but not limited to, Workday, CloudPay, Cornerstone, Brainshark, etc.
  • Recommend system and process controls by identifying problems and necessary remediation steps
  • Improve current systems and associated business processes by analyzing requirements and current practices, construct workflow flowcharts and diagrams, study system capabilities and write design specifications
  • Provide system support to keep HR systems operational and effective
  • Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation including process documentation, flowcharts, and training materials
  • Support requests for new user setup, configuration updates, and ad hoc reports
  • Provide requested support and documentation for IT audits

Project Management and Reporting

  • Work with end users to develop reports to fit business requirements
  • Perform and coordinate quality assurance reviews and testing
  • Document report criteria, design, and processing procedures
  • Ensure data management standards align with corporate data management strategy
  • Work independently and lead assignments/projects of moderate to high complexity following company and best practice methodology
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements
  • Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions
  • Lead special projects as necessary to support requests from HR
  • Directly interface with 3rd party Workday professional services firm
     

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant mid-to-high level system implementation experience
  • Workday experience required
  • HR Generalist experience a plus
  • Exceptional analytical ability, strong technical skills, and business intelligence skills.
  • Possess strong customer service orientation and demonstrate a full understanding of the needs of the client both external and internal
  • Project management skill set with ability to manage projects and the ability to work independently
  • Flexible to various demands and ability to manage problem solving, including the ability to logically approach a problem and propose recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to enable collaboration with other functional groups and individuals to meet overall business objectives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visio
  • Knowledge of customer support processes in a global, multi-channel support environment
     

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management Information Systems or Computer Science or related equivalent experience

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
