In today’s complex, difficult and fast-paced health-care market, talent acquisition is a more critical function than ever. Recruiting the best possible talent in both frontline and corporate settings is key to ensuring the company’s ongoing success. To support this effort, DaVita is hiring a new Director of Talent Acquisition (TA). In this role, you will play an active leadership role for a function that contains approximately 200 professionals.

You will be expected to leverage people, processes and technology to creatively source and build a pipeline for both corporate and frontline health-care workers. You will work with a production mindset, ensuring that roles are filled quickly with top talent in a challenging market.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience shaping a best-in-class TA strategy that attracts diverse, high-quality talent. Experience in contemporary talent management methodologies that connect TA to the overall employee experience will also be valuable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with other CoE leaders to ensure that the broader talent strategy is effectively integrated into the hiring process.
  • Champion diversity and culture in all aspects of the hiring process, including job descriptions, training for hiring managers, interview process consistency and candidate experience, leading to measurable improvement in the availability and selection of diverse candidates. Develop and manage diverse, qualified slates to increase the diversity of the company’s talent.
  • Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with operations and business leaders to ensure recruiting strategy is aligned to business needs at all times.
  • Create new, innovative sourcing strategies to develop and maintain a pipeline of candidates in a difficult health-care recruiting market.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and junior members of the team to establish internal talent pipeline and succession plan.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership by serving as an advisor for key leadership hires and talent needs within the business.
  • Build and maintain a network of contacts with search firms. Manage these relationships to ensure alignment on key leadership hires.
  • Create and utilize data and analytics, defining metrics and KPIs to illustrate program ROI.


  • Well-rounded knowledge in all areas of talent acquisition, including employer branding, sourcing, recruiting (including at the executive level), candidate assessment, onboarding and cultural engagement.
  • Proven ability to recruit at all levels, including high volume of frontline recruiting as well as executive level leadership.
  • Proven experience and passion for developing and imbedding diversity and belonging recruiting strategies and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing organizational improvements with experience in leading successful change management processes.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with senior business leaders to understand their talent needs, leveraging this information proactively to find excellent potential talent.
  • Worked in a large, highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to use HRIS systems, assessment tools, metrics and data to power a sophisticated recruiting function. Specific experience with Workday is preferred.
  • Thinks strategically and with a long-term orientation. Translates ideas into actionable, practical strategies that bring an overall vision to life.

  • Minimum 10 years of TA leadership experience in a Fortune 500 (or similarly sized) organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Able to occasionally travel to DaVita’s Denver, Colorado headquarters as needed (if remote).

Salary/ Wage Range

$110,100.00 to $161,700.00

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
