Job Summary 

This position is for a fast-paced environment with weekly and monthly deadlines. This role requires a basic understanding of accounting practices. Customer Service skills are necessary as Franchise Accounting is one of the primary contacts for the franchise community and other areas of Denny’s.  

  

  

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities) 

Weekly collection of sales reports from the franchisee by deadlines 

Work with internal and external auditors to ensure accuracy in sales reporting and effectiveness of internal controls 

Approximately 10 hours per week of sales auditing and data entry in Service Now 

Prepare annual property tax reconciliations for fiscal and yearly property taxes. This also includes updating the property tax customer contracts within the Workday accounting system 

Perform ad hoc reporting out of Workday to address billing inquiries from franchisees 

The ability to use Workday for reports such as supplier invoice history and customer invoices

  • FCR Customer Invoice Lines 

  • FCR Find Supplier 

Respond to questions from the franchisees concerning sales, charges, and credit card transactions 

Serve as a primary point of contact for the franchise community, the ability to address their needs and questions in a timely manner 

Work independently to accomplish weekly and monthly deadlines 

Work with other departments as needs arise, such as Legal, Internal Audit, Tax, and Treasury  

Projects and training as applicable for business needs 

Perform various weekly and monthly account reconciliations as assigned 

Other duties as assigned. 

  

  

Education and Experience Requirements 

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.  Some college preferred. 

Experience: 

2+ years previous accounting experience 

  

 

Required Knowledge and Skills 

Fundamental Excel skills are required. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills 

Ability to collaborate with other team members to accomplish departmental goals 

Understanding of general booking and accounting 

The ability to use Workday software. 

Understanding of the contract and contract amendment function in Workday
