Role overview:

This role is responsible for all generalist HR activity for the EMEA HQ who include all EMEA roles in the Finance, Technology, HR, Legal, Communications and CSR teams. The purpose of this role is to provide timely and proactive first line support for the wide range of HR enquiries and processing requirements, acting in line with defined best practice.

Main Responsibilities:

The HR Advisor is a varied and busy role that requires flexibility to manage coordination tasks and advisory duties in this time of transition. This role will provide front line support to employees and managers on all HR related queries. They will be responsible for:

Advisory Duties:

  • Employee Relations – Advising managers and employees on disciplinary, performance management and grievances, as well as supporting the HR Director with more complex scenarios.

  • Training – Planning and Implementing the annual training offering for the group, including creating and delivery of internal content for our group that supports our business strategy and need.

  • Data Management and Analytics – Maintain the variety of systems to ensure accurate people data and then utilise it to create annual KPI data for the HR department, looking at turnover, leavers, absence and recruitment to inform people decisions.

  • Reward – Run an end to end process for Annual Reward processing including Bonus and Salary Review exercises

  • Talent – Use R500 and Horizons to identify opportunities to develop the careers of our talents through roles and assignments that will provide unique opportunities to build experience and skills.

  • Vision and Values – Act as a champion and role model of our vision and values. Ensure that our people practices are effective in embedding and reinforcing our values and that we develop our leaders to be strong ambassadors of the vision and values.

  • Completing the occupational health referral process

  • Overseeing the contractor process and involvement with recruitment where required

  • Support managing internal mobility and expats

Coordination Duties:

  • Employee Lifecycle – End to end management of the full employee lifecycle from recruitment, inductions, probation, annual performance reviews, employee questions and queries and the exit process including exit interviews and analysis.

  • Recruitment – Actively manage the recruitment process working with the recruiting managers to ensure briefs are filled quickly and with the strongest candidates. Exploring all recruitment options (LinkedIn, advertising, agencies etc) to ensure we have the best candidates pipelined for roles.

  • Benefits and Payroll – Raise awareness of our benefits through regular communication and sharing of information, and ensure accurate and timely information is sent to Payroll monthly, and manage ad-hoc queries efficiently.

  • Coordination of manual payments as needed

  • Offer Letter creation

  • Workday process management, ensuring changes are made in the system and end to end lifecycle management

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working as a HR Advisor, ideally within a transformation and/or change environment

  • Sound generalist HR knowledge and best practice approach

  • Experience working with a global population

  • Analytical mindset and a problem solver

  • Proactive and driven

  • Accountable and autonomous- experience of having full ownership of tasks and activities. Someone with a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment and resilient to change

  • Experience working and managing multiple stakeholders at different levels

  • Experience delivering training would be desirable
