Job Description:

The Senior HCM Business Advisor/Deputy Head HR NL provides professional, timely advice and guidance to business leaders in assigned Divisions/Business Units, on specific functional subject areas and consistent with the Bank’s strategy, ensuring adherence to Bank policy and relevant legal/regulatory frameworks. They may also have control function responsibility for defined topics. They collaborate with colleagues within their function, and more broadly, to implement appropriate policies and processes, in line with Bank and Divisional strategy. The HCM Business Advisor delivers appropriate products and solutions to meet the needs of their assigned Division/Business Unit, and actively promotes and supports implementation of cross-divisional initiatives. Typically, they provide coverage for one or more teams within/across Divisions or regions, and have responsibility for advising on their area of functional expertise.

The suitable candidate will strongly support the Country Head of HR in shaping and balancing the HR Advisory model in the country, following the offshoring of HR activities and the pensionfund.
The position is geared for a future succession of the Country Head of HR NL.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and support various business areas and the Works Council on HR- and organization policies, HR issues and individual personnel matters related to the inflow, internal flow and outflow of personnel

  • Ensure the development, implementation, evaluation and a correct consistent application of HR instruments and HR policies within the organization

  • Advise on and support business transformation and changes; execute organizational structure changes for teams or department

  • Guide/advise managers and employees during complex HR matters, such as prolonged absence, underperformance cases and other disputes

  • Partnering with (senior) managers to review employee relations, performance management, resourcing and staff management

  • Identify needs within the organization and the relevant market trends and translate those into policy proposals

  • Advise management on recruitment and selection strategies and provide operational assistance to management when requested

  • Assess risks and coordinate actions to mitigate risks

  • Maintaining and co-ordinating relationships (vendor management) with third parties i.e. health and safety services, law firm, staffing agencies, outplacement agencies

  • Advise management on staff development and training resources and develop and maintain training program

  • Ensure managers’ compliance with labour and social law. Anticipate and flag any risk linked to working conditions.

  • Vendor management for HR: negotiate contract details, maintain and collaborate

  • May Leads, coordinates and/or participates in (multi disciplinary) projects, related to wellbeing, talent development , etc

Required skills and competences

  • Requires in-depth HR knowledge and experience

  • Experience in the NL banking environment

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of Deutsche Bank organization and strategy in order to advice on organizational changes

  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions

  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices

  • Works independently, receives minimal guidance

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members

  • Makes decisions within guidelines and policies

  • Must have strong communication skills to convince others, often (top)management

  • Preferable: knowledge of the Dutch pension landscape

Education, knowledge and working experience

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Human Resources or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources position

  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of Workday.

  • Change management skills and knowledge of Dutch Labour Law

  • Communicative, empathic, service oriented with consulting skills, pro-activeness

  • Fluent in Dutch and English

  • Demonstrating strong leadership
