As a Payroll Specialist II at Donaldson, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, utilizing your expertise in ADP and Workday applications. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Donaldson is on an exciting journey where we are currently implementing Workday Time Tracking and Payroll. 

The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, adhering to compliance standards, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.  This position will play a crucial role in the transition from ADP to Workday.  

Role Responsibilities:

  • Utilize ADP and Workday software to process and manage payroll activities efficiently

  • Stay updated on ADP and Workday system enhancements to execute best practices for payroll processing.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly/weekly payroll for all employees.

  • Review and verify Workday timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Stay current with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing.

  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams for accurate general ledger and money movement entries. 

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.

  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters with professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Work closely with the HR teams to ensure timely execution of business processes seamless integration between HR and payroll functions.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of Payroll experience working in a Workday/ADP environment

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience

  • Certification in Payroll (FCP/CPP)

  • Project Management experience including leading system implementations
