Summary:

The Compensation Manager plays a critical role in designing, overseeing, implementing, and managing compensation programs for all hotel and corporate positions. You are responsible for ensuring that the compensation structure aligns with the company’s overall strategic objectives and helps attract, retain, and motivate team members effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Consult with leaders throughout the organization on compensation and job reviews.
  • Provide recommendations and advice on pay decisions, policies, guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
  • Manage the administration of all bonus and incentive programs and work with Accounting / Payroll on processing, recording, and reporting.  Review actual pay versus performance and recommend program changes as needed.
  • Assist with managing the Company’s performance evaluation system, which includes reward systems such as bonuses, merit cycles and pay-for-performance plans.
  • Manage the Company’s 401(k) employee savings plan.
  • Partner with HR and the business to understand and define business problems and issues, analyzing data and presenting insights that drive decisions.
  • Champion and serve as technical expert for HR Systems helping to identify needed design requirements, features, functionality, and progressive enhancements.
  • Proactively analyze business opportunities and technical processes to streamline, automate and improve our systems, reporting functionality, or ease of use. 
  • Supervise the Compensation team member.

General Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

  • Ability to collect, read, analyze, interpret and synthesize complex data; use intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Attention to detail is critical, along with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and convey complex compensation concepts.
  • Demonstrate financial management and budgeting skills. 
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  • Workday HCM experience is strongly preferred.
  • Three or more years of experience in compensation. 
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in business, human resources or related field. 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or working towards certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
