We are looking for a hardworking and motivated Senior Manager, Accounting Operations to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will lead and manage the daily operations of the Payroll and Accounts Payable teams. You must be hands on and willing to take ownership. You must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to establish credibility and facilitate an effective working relationship with cross functional teams. What you will do:

  • Direct and oversee the accounting operations teams, including Payroll, Procure–to-Pay function (AP) and Travel & Expense with a focus on internal controls, standardizing processes, close optimization and accuracy

  • Liaise and participate in workflow design with other system administrators on processes, policies, systems and compliance, as well as drive and support the implementation of accounting systems where necessary

  • Own certain aspects of the month-end close process, including ensuring key account balances are fully reconciled, and reviewing supporting schedules

  • Evaluate processes/controls to improve efficiency (through various techniques such as process streamlining and/or automation) and effectiveness on a continuous basis

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 internal control policies and procedures, implement and document internal controls timely and accurately, and collaborate to revise and enhance internal control policies and procedures as needed

  • Work with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits

  • Partner cross-functionally with other teams, such as General Ledger, Human Resources, Tax, and Legal, to ensure smooth running of daily operations and ensure accuracy and timeliness in the processing of AP and Payroll transactions

  • Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training, and success in the accounting organization

  • Lead and manage a small team of direct reports, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals, through ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years working in a payroll environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience implementing and/or leading the use of Workday Payroll 

  • Financial systems knowledge and expertise and familiarity with financial business applications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced work environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
