Job Description:

Position Overview:  The Workday Solutions and Integrations Architect is a member of the Enterprise Computing team at Fairfield University.  In this role, you will support the Director, Workday Operations and the cross-functional leads by serving as a technical resource for Workday reporting and dashboards, including Advanced reporting, BIRT, and PRISM.  You will design, implement and support Workday integrations and work closely with the Workday functional leads to create business process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have strong Workday technical experience and functional knowledge of critical HCM, Finance and Payroll business processes.  Higher Education experience is preferred but not required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as a key member of the ITS Workday team to identify, design, and implement solutions by utilizing Workday delivered functionality and integrations.

  • Help drive a continuous process improvement mindset across campus and champion the use of Workday to encourage industry best practices

Reporting

  • Serve as an advanced reporting resource to create dashboards, discovery boards, and Prism datasets

  • Create and schedule RaaS reports to support integrations

Integrations

  • Oversee existing Workday integrations and develop new integrations as needed to support campus reporting needs, custom applications, and integrations with external systems

  • Work closely with ITS developer team to create and sustain a nimble integrations and reporting architecture

  • Work with  Workday System Administrator to configure Integrations security

Business Process Administration

  • Work with constituents across the Fairfield University campus to streamline existing processes and help ensure they align with University goals and objectives

  • Assist Workday functional leads as necessary to configure complex business processes by applying advanced routing and building calculated fields for condition rules

  • Troubleshoot business processes and determine root case of issues as they arise. Assist Workday team in ensuring stable and consistent functionality of the Workday tenant

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required.

  • Workday ERP functional product experience (Finance, HR, and/or Payroll) including proficiency with Workday integrations architecture, reporting tools, and business process framework.

  • Prior relevant technical or business analysis experience. 

  • Must be a team player who prefers a collaborative environment

  • Ability to develop relationships among all organizational levels.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office suite as well as documenting business processes.

  • Excellent analysis, interviewing, communication, and team skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and closely with others according to project needs.

  • Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to acquire and utilize new skills and is flexible in changing conditions.

Preferred:

  • Workday Pro or Partner certification(s)

  • Experience in Higher Education environment

  • Experience with Prism, BIRT, Discovery Boards

  • Experience with Workday Integrations tools including EIB’s, Workday Web Services (SOAP),  REST API’s, template-based connectors and transformations.  Workday Studio experience a plus.
