Ferguson is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our high performing HR Operations Service Delivery team. The Human Resources Service Delivery team supports the organization’s associates through each step of the employee lifecycle. The Human Resources Generalist is dedicated to high-touch, associate-centric interactions through all contact methods. The Human Resource Generalist prioritizes communicating effectively to make human resources tasks simple and intuitive.

Location: This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA, according to company policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an initial point of contact for a range of HR related topics throughout the associate lifecycle – from onboarding through offboarding.
  • Engage directly with internal associates and external contacts to resolve HR questions timely and accurately by phone (typically on the phone 4 hours a day), email, and online inquiries
  • Capture details of associate inquiries; research and resolve inquiries in our Workday case management system while simultaneously using other applications to review, research and locate additional information as needed.
  • Advise associates and managers on HR policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Apply critical thinking to help solve various HR related tasks and associate inquiries while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Seek opportunities to improve processes, service and the overall associate experience.
  • Provide other administrative support the HR function as business needs require.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of professional experience with working knowledge and passion for HR.
  • Bilingual Spanish, preferred
  • Expertise in working with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, and Excel) and working across time zones.
  • Experience with Workday, Empyrean, or other similar systems is preferred.
  • A high level of dedication to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • High degree of discretion with strong attention to detail, and self-organization.
  • Positive, flexible, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and balance multiple priorities at once while being efficient and calm in the face of change.
  • Effective listening skills and strong communication skills (oral, written and telephone skills).
  • Patience and poise to interact with management at all levels.
  • Collaborative teammate who is eager to help advance the goals of Ferguson's HR team.
  • Ability to work Eastern Standard Time hours, 8-5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay Range:

$15.58 – $25.39

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
