International Payroll Specialist

Position Summary:
Ferring FSC is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our international team operating globally. As an EMEA Payroll Specialist, you will manage payroll data for multiple countries, primarily across European and Asia Pacific regions, while being open to other regions. Our Service Centre in Lagoas Park, Oeiras, is expanding to support European, Middle Eastern, and African countries.
As an International Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with local tax and labor regulations, and providing financial insights. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance payroll processes and systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
- Reconciliation and validation of payroll reports.
- Understanding taxation of employer-paid benefits.
- Collaboration with payroll vendors.
- Implementation of new Payroll systems when needed.
- Interface with payroll providers as required.
- Compliance checks and audits.
- Month-end/year-end reporting when necessary.
- Ad hoc financial and operational reporting.
- Management of third-party payments and reporting.
- Resolution of employee queries.
- Adherence to SOP/policies.
- Continuous improvement of payroll processes.
- Serving as a contact point for external/ internal auditors.
- Preparation, evaluation, presentation, and optimization of complex HR reports.
- Support in optimizing HR/Payroll systems and processes.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of Payroll experience, preferably in a shared services or COE model.
- Knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Strong confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to a changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Conflict resolution abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Workday.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
