About the role:

We are seeking a passionate Workforce Planning evangelist to join our team.  The Workforce Planning Specialist is part of a Strategic Workforce Planning function within the Workforce Transformation organization of the People Office.   The specialist will play a pivotal role in driving strategic workforce initiatives by providing in-depth analysis, forecasting, and insights to the business.  The Workforce Planning Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining models to predict talent needs, ensuring the organization has the right talent in the right place at the right time.  The Workforce Planning Specialist will partner closely with business leaders, HR, finance, and other departments to translate business goals into actionable workforce strategies that connect talent needs to business outcomes.

  • Develop methodologies, processes, and tools to activate best-in-class strategic workforce planning at FIS.

  • Implement and utilize enabling technology, data, and processes to perform the work efficiently at scale.

  • Leverage robust people analytics capabilities to improve model quality and planning context.

  • Rely on strong inter-team and cross-functional partnership to ensure collective successes.

  • Are part of a broader Workforce Planning and Insights function that brings together People Analytics, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Workforce Programs.

What you will be doing:

  • Workforce Forecasting & Modeling: Support the Workforce Planning component of our annual planning process in conjunction with Finance, Business leads, and HRBPs. Partner to conduct supply and demand analysis, business scenario planning, and forecasting. Regularly assess workforce planning models/projections to identify opportunities to improve accuracy of forecasts and dependent action plans.

  • Workforce Planning Technology SME: Support Workforce Planning technology roadmap; participate in requirements gathering, building, testing, and implementation for WFP technology initiatives (e.g., Workday Position Management and Adaptive Planning, Strategic Workforce Planning, Skills of the Future platforms/tools).

  • Mentoring & Leadership: Provide mentorship and coaching to other practitioners on the team, sharing best practices and expertise in workforce planning.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Equip and support HRBPs to deliver WFP by developing communications, resources, and tools. Support communications and change management efforts such as building presentations explaining the workforce planning process for various audiences, including outside HR.  Facilitate conversations with senior level stakeholders to explain the value and benefits of workforce planning specific to their function

  • Process & Artifact Creation: Enhance and maintain the Workforce Planning Toolkit with reference information, templates, examples, and other tools for workforce planning practitioners, HRBPs and key partners.

What you will need:

  • General Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in workforce planning/analysis

    • 5+ years of experience in HR systems and HR analytics

    • Understanding of Job Management and Position Management Staffing Models and prior experience conducting workforce planning in a Position Management configuration.

    • Experience building analytical models from multiple sources of data, dimensions, and perspectives (supply, demand, internal, external)

    • Experience executing and delivering large operational projects and continual process improvement involving multiple cross-functional stakeholders

    • Driven, self-starter with a bias for action in gray areas

  • Technical Skills:

    • Workday Adaptive Planning (formerly Adaptive Insights) or similar workforce planning platform experience

    • Advanced Excel Skills, including building complex models and data visualization skills

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Strong ability to interpret and analyze large data sets, draw meaningful conclusions, and present insights to non-technical audiences

    • Extraordinary attention to detail

  • Process Skills:

    • General understanding of project management life-cycle basics

    • Ability to manage projects with stakeholders across multiple functions or businesses

    • Process mapping and process design experience 

  • Communication Skills & Collaboration:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data and recommendations clearly and concisely to leadership

    • Comfortable designing and presenting materials to various levels of stakeholder in both small and large audience settings

    • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with various teams, driving alignment between workforce planning and business goals

Added bonus if you have:

  • Visier or similar People Analytics platforms

  • Change Management and/or consulting experience

  • Location Strategy design experience

  • Prior role at large-scale, global company with complex business units and corporate functions, including mix of matrixed and functionalized resources.

  • Familiarity with SQL or other data analytics programming languages

  • Other Workday Products/Modules (Core HCM, Recruiting, LMS)
