Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of Accounting, Boca Raton, FL.

The Coordinator of Accounting is responsible for the maintenance, reconciliation, and accountability of the revenue and accounts receivable subsidiary ledger known as Raiser’s Edge and the related data feed of such transactional activity into Workday. An integral part of this job is ensuring that Raiser’s Edge transactional activity is satisfactorily recorded into Workday as Workday is the ERP/financial system of record for the FAU Foundation.

This position will also serve to support Institutional Advancement and Foundation Accounting related to revenue and accounts receivable financial activities including but not limited to the month-end close processes and financial reporting. This position will be responsible for documenting and identifying internal control processes, recommending changes to existing accounting procedures and developing new procedures.

Additionally, this position will also be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of billing/invoicing for Advancement Services in Workday. Functional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for saving PDF documents representing cash receipts into Raiser’s Edge via PaperSave functionality.
  • Gift verification.
  • Review of new records in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Preparation of gift adjustments in Raiser’s Edge records for pledges.
  • Review of gift adjustments in Raiser’s Edge by Gift Processing.
  • Review and reconciliation of matching gift transactional activity.
  • Review and reconciliation of payroll deduction transactional activity.
  • Creation of gift department policies and procedures and related internal controls.
  • Preparation of the Raiser’s Edge/Workday excel-based integration file and the related Workday data file.
  • Working with outsourced IT team in the design and development of the Raiser’s Edge/Workday automated Workday data file.
  • Preparation of gift adjustments in Raiser’s Edge records for pledges.
  • Backup for gift processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or any related field and two years of appropriate experience is required.

Experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred.

Experience with Workday preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and be strong in Excel.

Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
