Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Retirement Specialist, Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides retirement consultation and guidance for all members of the university community on plans including but not limited to: FRS, ORP, 403(b), 457 – Deferred Compensation, special executive programs, and State Insurance options.
  • Manages retirement process including completion of forms for employees.
  • Assists employees as a trusted subject matter expert in transitioning from the workforce to retirement.
  • Analyzes and accurately calculates estimated payouts and sheltering options based upon employee needs and preferences.
  • Serves as a liaison between employees and external retirement partners.
  • Serves as the liaison between the university and the Division of Retirement to proactively resolve complex issues.
  • Meets with employees and HR Partners regularly to educate them on retirement options and plan details.
  • Works with Manager to troubleshoot issues encountered by the Benefits & Retirement team, employees, and vendors.
  • Creates content and collaborates with Manager, Payroll, and the Office of Information Technology to implement updates and adjustments to plans and integration files.
  • Collaborates with multiple benefits and retirement partners to facilitate seminars, webinars, and lunch & learn sessions.
  • Independently researches and stays to-to-date on latest local, state, and federal laws and progressive trends.
  • Processes Workday retirement testing.
  • Facilitates FRS DROP invitations and enrollments.
  • Reviews retirement invoices and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) files.
  • Completes special Retirement-based projects as necessary.
  • May provide limited training to Senior Benefits Representatives.
  • May consult with Workday Operations on relevant reports and dashboards.
  • May provide additional assistance to the Benefits and Retirement team as needed.
  • May supervise SP, OPS, and/or student employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of retirement experience required. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Office/administrative experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills required.

Prior experience working with Workday HCM, PeopleFirst and/or The Florida Retirement System preferred.
