Workday Platform Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Workday Platform Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the Workday ERP system, which currently includes Human Capital Management (HCM), Finance, and Adaptive Planning modules automating, payroll, benefits, time tracking, talent management, finance, budget, and procurement business processes.
The Workday Platform Administrator performs day-to-day overall administration of the system and configures and manages the system to meet the university’s requirements. This includes working with the primary process owners as well as Business System Analysts and other Information Technology Services staff to ensure the system is being used effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the University. This Administrator is responsible for managing security roles and permissions, module configurations, uptake of new releases and features (including coordinating testing), and change management processes. The Workday Administrator supports primary process owners by assisting with configurations, answering questions, and troubleshooting problems. The Administrator also performs periodic health checks of the Workday system along with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure compliance with University, State and Federal regulations.
The Workday Administrator is a key member of the Solutions Delivery Team in Information Technology Services, which also includes Business Systems Analysts, documentation and training specialists, and project managers, all of whom collaborate to ensure that University departments are equipped to make the maximum productive use of the University’s various business systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing and maintaining the Workday system to include HR, payroll, benefits, time tracking, talent management, finance, budget, and procurement business modules. Responsible for ensuring the Workday system meets the needs of the university, employees, and stakeholders.
- Work as part of the Information Technology Services team to ensure delivery of high-quality business solutions within Workday. Work with the Documentation & Training Specialist and Business Analysts to meet client support needs for documentation and training.
- Prepare and organize testing such as functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). Manage and ensure change management requests align with the University business needs and ensure any changes do not cause negative downstream effects.
- Work to foster inter-department relationships that emphasize collaboration, high-quality service delivery, and process improvements. Work with all areas of the University including other systems/business analysts and project managers on joint projects as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience working with large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which includes administering system-level functions and configurations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated and proven skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of direct experience
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in business system platform administration
- Equivalencies may be accepted.
- In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Higher education experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with the Workday ERP system (or a similar ERP), preferably involving Workday Administration
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- This position requires a criminal background check, which may include a Level II screening as required by Florida Statute §435.04.
- This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This position is salary exempt. The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., however, occasional overtime (weekends and evenings) may be required. Travel between campus locations may be required.
TARGET HIRING SALARY: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience.
