We are currently recruiting for a qualified Senior Financial Accountant to join our Australian finance team. 

This role has responsibility for key accounting and external reporting functions of the FLSmidth Group.  The position assists the Financial Controller in fulfilling company accounting requirements and monitoring business performance.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold relevant qualifications, with 5+ years’ accounting experience;
  • CA, CPA or equivalent designation;
  • At least 5 years experience in a large organisation, with exposure to foreign subsidiaries, consolidations and acquisition accounting.  Experience in the mineral processing industry highly regarded;
  • Demonstrated competence in providing financial reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting standards and Commonwealth government requirements;
  • Recent experience with the preparation of statutory accounts for a listed company;
  • Intermediate-Advanced Excel, Workday experience and AASB & US GAAP knowledge would be advantageous;
  • Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects;
  • Customer driven with the ability to build solid working relationships, an excellent communicator and a team player;
  • Willingness to learn and undergo job specific training (ex. software/project/sampling);
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail;
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with customers, contractors and other personnel on a daily basis;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Computer experience using standard MS Office suite of programs is required;
  • Experienced utilizing ERP database systems i.e. Epicor, Oracle, SAP or similar systems; and
  • Good organisation, multitasking and time management skills to manage high volume workload and flows to meet deadlines consistently and to a high standard of quality.
