JOB DESCRIPTION

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Financial Analyst to join their team in Chicago. This position will be responsible for leading the core accounting functions of the group including performing monthly advertising account reconciliations, new advertiser credit checks, billing, revenue pacing, application of payments, and payroll approval reporting.  In addition, the role is the primary contact for all accounts payable related inquiries and support. The analyst will also be the key finance partner in building the budgets, long range plan and quarterly forecasts for Marketing, Technology Operations, Research, and SG&A. This role will work closely with the finance manager, senior leaders in these areas, and the broader FOX Sports accounting group.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the preparation of responsible operating budgets, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and month end variance reconciliations

  • Primary contact for all Accounts Payable inquiries and systems support, including setting up and training new users & onboarding vendors. Daily A/P invoice review and submission

  • Accounts Receivable duties include daily cash application, invoice aging management, and periodic check deposits

  • Prepare monthly cash application and pre-payment journal entries, third party commission calculations, and ad sales reserves

  • Weekly payroll support includes management summary distribution approval and periodic coding corrections

  • Ad hoc project contributions required as necessary

  • Evaluate credit for all new advertising clients and maintain system profiles

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed 

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with both external and internal associates

  • Proactive in solving problems, multitasking and working effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and a team player

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
