JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Sports Media Group (FSMG) is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to work in the general accounting group. You will be responsible for network closing/accounting, financial consolidation and reporting, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets accounting process, bank reconciliations and audits. You will assist in projects such as policies and procedures documentation, ad-hoc reporting and have the opportunity to collaborate with Finance team members across various businesses within the company.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to network activities, including revenue, accruals, and sports rights & production

  • Interact directly with Finance group to obtain proposed journal entries, resolve unusual items or discrepancies/reclassifications, and ensure all accounting schedules are up to date

  • Prepare monthly P&L variance analysis, cash flows and account reconciliations in a timely manner

  • Understand, review, and summarize key business drivers impacting operating performance through the course of financial closes and planning cycles for financial reporting purposes

  • Maintain fixed asset module to record additions, disposals, and depreciation

  • Prepare and publish Capital Status Report on a monthly basis

  • Reconcile the fixed asset module to the general ledger on a monthly basis

  • Work with the Commitment Authorization System (CAS) to ensure accurate and timely approval of capital projects and expense authorizations

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations on a timely basis

  • Work with various groups (accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance and payroll) to clear bank reconciliation items in a timely manner

  • Assist with audit procedures (i.e., SOX & internal/external audit requests)

  • Maintain & enhance standardized accounting policies and procedures

  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Minimum three years of experience in accounting or reporting

  • Strong knowledge of SOX 404 documentation

  • Strong GAAP knowledge

  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work well under time constraints

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Ability to interact with various levels of management

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER

  • BA or BS in Accounting; CPA preferred

  • Sports/Entertainment industry experience

  • Knowledge of Workday ERP system
