The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of Full Sail University’s affiliate operations. This role ensures the maintenance of accurate and compliant financial records and the production of timely and accurate financial statements. The Accounting Manager will also provide a supervisory role to the accounting team while maintaining effective internal controls and policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•   Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end and year end closing processes.
•   Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies and compliance while maintaining proper documentation and record-keeping.
•   Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development which include but are not limited to ensuring accuracy of financial records and reporting, appropriate delegation of tasks and responsibilities.
•   Prepare and analyze financial statements.
•   Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
•   Prepare and deliver key metric reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
•   Identify and monitor trends and provide insights into financial performance to support compliance with applicable loan covenants and other reporting requirements.
•   Prepare sales tax filings.
•   Assist the external tax CPAs during the preparation of the annual tax returns and support internal requests for tax planning needs.
•   Assist with external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
•   Prepare and review related party reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
•   Develop annual budgets as required and monitor performance against budget as needed.
•   All other duties as assigned.
Education/Training:
•   Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
•   Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential preferred.
Experience:
•   3 to 5 years of public accounting experience.
•   Experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support

•   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
•   Experience with Workday or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
•   Familiarity with accounting software such as Great Plains and QuickBooks.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
•   Work is performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
•   The role requires frequent use of a computer, including accessing, inputting, and retrieving information.
