About the role

As part of HR (Human Resources) Technology's newly established team dedicated to operational excellence, this Lead Software Engineering role will play a crucial part. As a trusted technology partner, you will contribute to Gartner's success by driving innovation, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional user experiences, all while upholding the company's reputation.

The Lead Software Engineer for the Operations Excellence team is responsible for providing technical solutions for HR Engineering applications. This position will assist in identifying and optimizing operational processes and automating manual support tasks. The main goal is to ensure that our HR products and platforms are consistently available and functioning as intended, while also providing exceptional IT (Information Technology) support to Gartner's HR team.

We are seeking a proactive and motivated problem solver who can deliver results. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to identify areas for innovation and drive value within the organization.

What you will do

  • Analyzing, debugging, and improving various integration solutions.
  • Collaborating effectively with large software engineering teams.
  • Leading Data and Integration initiatives for HR IT Systems.
  • Ensuring consistent application delivery and providing production support.
  • Communicating effectively and in a timely manner with HR IT and HR Business users.
  • Gaining expertise in the Workday applications, products, and associated business processes.
  • Standardizing HR operations and Delivery processes.
  • Automating repetitive operations using technology.

What you will need

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years of experience working in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure
  • Experience with Splunk and Vulnerabilities Management is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience in supporting Web Services with a strong understanding of JSON usage.
  • Experience handling integrations through ETL, Pub/Sub, and replication technologies.
  • Familiarity with the Workday Platform is a plus.
  • Experience with Service Now and Jira is a plus.
