About the role

Gartner is looking for a well-rounded and motivated senior developer to join its HR Technology team which is responsible for developing web-based applications and integrations to support its HR Technology applications.

What you will do

  • Provide daily operational support for production systems including providing on-call support

  • In conjunction with IT/ extended technical teams and third parties, you will build and support all integrations in and out Workday System.

  • Collaborate with HRIS and Business teams to provide IT solutions to Business requirements

  • Design applications/integrations and presents design to application leads for review

  • Perform coding and/or configuration to meet documented needs, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.

  • You’ll Investigate and manage integration support issues across the data flows, upstream/ downstream Workday through to resolution.

  • Test, implement, document, and maintain system components based on specifications. Also modifies, tests, and troubleshoots existing tools and utilities.

  • Support the HRIT team members in technical deliverables and provide mentorship in technical skills and HR domain knowledge

  • Demonstrate familiarity and strong working knowledge of the relevant programming languages and tools for the application area.

  • Demonstrate understanding of application development methods, including agile and waterfall, as well as the fundamentals of requirement specifications, design, coding and testing of business applications systems

  • Has a strong working understanding of installed systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve many problems on the existing systems supported

  • Develop a basic understanding of the industry and the products and services of the company

  • Select appropriate work procedures or approaches to address technical challenges, consistent with appropriate standards and policies

What you will need

  • Minimum of 6 years of Experience in HR Applications like Workday, SAP, SuccessFactors, Oracle EBS.

  • 4 years of experience in Workday HR, designing, building, and testing Workday HCM integrations to third party vendors including payroll and benefit providers.

  • Experience with Workday integration tools i.e., Custom Reports, EIB, Studio, CCW, PICOF, and PECI

  • Experience in programming in XML and XSLT

  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop Workday integrations

  • Understanding of integration patterns, SOA and Web Service Technologies

  • Experience with integrating applications via web service APIs – SOAP and REST

  • Experience managing security for Workday

  • Development experience SQL and PostgreSQL/Oracle/SQL databases is preferred

  • Experience in leading teams and HRIT processes is preferred
