Your Role

As a Human Resources Business Partner in Gensler’s Seattle office, you will work closely with team members and leadership in supporting your assigned studios (business units).  This is an opportunity to be part of a strategic HR service model in a creative and cutting-edge environment, in addition to being hands-on, working closely with the HR and leadership teams.  You will be the day to day contact for your studios/business units to educate on the firm’s core HR services, which include employee benefits, HRIS, compensation, retirement plans, legal compliance, mobility, and policies & procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with HR Director and HR team members, studio leaders and office leadership on people matters related to talent development, performance management and employee relations

  • Advocate for team members, be a trusted and confidential advisor, and suggest best practices to enhance employee experience and lead industry

  • Counsel managers and leaders on human resources issues, providing insight and options compliant with legislation and consistent with Gensler philosophies, policies and culture

  • Assist in succession planning program and proactively developing staff and leadership

  • Investigate, document and resolve employee relations issues

  • Partner with HR Director, Regional Operating Officer (ROO),  and leadership regarding compensation and reward programs

  • Oversee initial employee evaluation process for assigned studios

  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to the leadership team for corrective action and continuous improvement

  • Partner with Talent Development in rolling out development and learning programs, including our annual PDP program, to ensure programs are successful

  • Understand all Gensler policies and ensure compliance within the offices

  • Facilitate global mobility of employees with transfer, relocation, and visa processing

  • Partner with HR team colleagues to create and innovate HR practices

  • Other duties and responsibilities as appropriate

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area required

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience, architecture or professional services firm experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of employment law and compliance regulations at federal, state and local levels

  • Advanced MS Office proficiency preferred, particularly Excel

  • Experience with Workday preferred

  • Experience running and analyzing reports

  • Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to work independently, navigate and maintain productivity in a matrix environment

  • Strong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships

  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required

  • Ability to persuade and influence leadership on people matters

  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification or equivalent preferred
