About The Role:

We are seeking a Workday Configuration Team Lead to enhance Giant Tiger's existing Workday HCM modules and simplify the end-user experience. This role leverages advanced expertise to optimize system performance and stability, deliver user-centric solutions, and support business leaders in driving continuous improvement.

Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a fully remote schedule. Occasional travel to Ottawa Home Office is required on an annual basis.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Administer change requests requiring medium to advanced Workday configuration knowledge to improve performance, simplify processes for end users, and enhance the overall Workday experience.

  • Act as the Lead in Workday HCM, Payroll, Time-Tracking, Learning, Absence, and Reporting modules.

  • Complete testing, auditing, and impact analyses of bi-annual Workday feature releases.

  • Advise and train Workday Support Specialists to improve response time for routine configuration requests.

  • Translate stakeholder requests into requirements, accurately understanding business needs and providing reliable solutions.

  • Develop test scenarios in accordance with the HRIS testing strategy and execute functional, negative, and end-to-end tests for change requests and Workday releases.

  • Draft and update job aids for end users and conduct demonstrations in training sessions.

  • Identify and regularly review key resources in the Workday community to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new features and relevant activities or warnings in assigned functional areas.
     

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Technology, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong understanding of Workday capabilities and touchpoints between functional areas.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing change requests for Workday HCM, Payroll, Time-Tracking, Learning, Absence, and Reporting.

  • Background in HR environments with knowledge of HR processes and policies.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, system mindset, testing best practices, and impact analysis.

  • Ability to apply learned concepts across multiple functional areas.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide guidance, articulate concerns, and influence stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements

  • Possible occasional travel to the Home Office in Ottawa
