We are seeking a Sr. Specialist II to join the People Technology team within HR based in Foster City, CA reporting to the Associate Director of People Technology.  Gilead HR is embarking on a program of process improvement, identifying opportunities for streamlining the way we work, and putting in place the right technical solutions to enable efficient workflow. This is an amazing opportunity for a driven, Workday technical expert to join our team and help us champion solutions to scale the HR function.

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to Compensation Partners, HR Business Partners, COE and HR Shared Services in technology solution delivery and project implementation

  • Collaborate with HR business functions to align business requirements, business processes and integration design

  • Drive continuous people, process and technology improvements

  • Leads Workday and other HR system implementations with a focus on Advanced Compensation (merit, promotion, bonus, stock cycles), providing functional oversight, gathering business and security requirements, performing system design and configuration, mapping and validating data conversion, creating test plans, conducting testing, creating and testing reports and providing post implementation support

  • Moderate to strong experience in Security and Reporting is a plus

  • Provide support to HR technology operations; responsibilities include troubleshooting data and system issues, recommending solutions and implementing changes and fixes in the systems per company’s policy

  • Develop and maintain HR technology training materials and conduct in person or online training

  • Participate in testing efforts for regular releases and updates

  • Maintain compliance with GDPR, OFCCP, and Sarbanes Oxley controls

  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of data accessed during daily activities

  • Support additional special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of business analyst and relevant experience and a BA or BS degree

  • Minimum 3 years of Workday functional experience (configurations, security, custom reports, EIB)

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Workday Compensation/Advanced Compensation and Core configurations

  • Must have strong knowledge of the Annual Merit & Bonus cycles, maintaining compensation plans, updating market ranges.

  • End to end implementation experience including requirements documentation, systems configuration, testing, training and change management

  • Possess basic understanding of business applications and IT integration capabilities/touchpoints to identify potential upstream and downstream impact and intersection point

  • Self-motivated team player; possesses strong project and time management skills, as well as organizational skills; ability to navigate through ambiguity and work independently

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and embrace new technologies, applications, and solutions

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels within the company

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate through ambiguity and work independently

  • Proven detail oriented and analytical skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. Knowledge of BIRT/Studio a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working for a Biopharma and / or global corporation.

  • Experience with Agile methodology

The salary range for this position is: $129,540.00 – $167,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
