The Sr. Data Analyst, HR Operations will play an integral role in the organizational strength of Goodwin. As a member of the HR Operations team, the Sr. HR Data Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of reporting and analytics for surveys and processes. This individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality data services to core team members, learning and anticipating the needs of the team, and providing best practices on managing data end-to-end. In addition to a proficiency in analytics and data handling, the role also requires interpersonal skills to effectively communicate the details and timeliness of deliverables.

This is a critical role to ensuring data integrity and privacy of all personnel data

and efficient processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with HRBPs, ADMs and Talent Acquisition to identify evidence-based strategies to make their businesses groups more effective and equitable.

  • Partner with other key functions including Finance, Business Intelligence, Technology, Practice Management and others to ensure data consistency.

  • Apply statistical and analytical skills and organizational theory to identify patterns in data and provide evidence-based recommendations with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Apply innovative ways to use data and interdisciplinary approaches to uplift structurally under represented communities.

  • Review current data points, partner with data owners to cleanse data and develop data collection methods for additional data metrics.  Maintain and enhance HR data in EDW.

  • Utilize research expertise, leveraging data analytics to understand and improve the firm’s unique systems, processes, and outcomes.

  • Update standard reports and current dashboards for leadership review. Develop and implement new reports and dashboards keeping in mind the firms diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

  • Proactively identifies process simplification and efficiency opportunities to management, ensuring we are fully utilizing system capabilities for the benefit of the department.

  • Produces routine HRIS reports including on demand, weekly and monthly reports with the help of the HRIS team.  Able to review reports and produce analysis of the data to assist leaders with data driven decision making.

  • Manage and create reports and presentations for specific data requests and responds to routine data requests including but not limited to DEI surveys, EEO-1 reporting, CA Pay Data reporting, UK Pay Gap reporting.

  • Liaise with various departments, particularly Business Intelligence, to maintain and enhance ongoing reports and dashboards.

  • Oversee dashboard security in conjunction with Business Intelligence to ensure sensitive information remains confidential.

  • Coordinate data analytic requests and provide assistance on report design.

  • Create and maintain internal documentation such as data dictionaries.

  • Research, develop and employ the use of predictive analytics with talent and attorney development.

  • Collaborate with other team members and assume other duties as required.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, economics or related field such as statistics, finance and preferred.

  • Solid understanding of state and federal privacy rules and GDPR.

  • A minimum of three years of human resources or DEI experience. Law firm or professional services industry experience a plus.

  • A minimum of three years of experience working with HRIS systems. Workday experience a plus.

  • Experience with data visualization programs preferable Tableau.

  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel, as well as external clients and vendors.

  • Exceptionally strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize changing and competing projects and tasks.  The ability to multi-task numerous requests is required

  • Proficiency in data mining and analysis, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other technologies. Proven experience in applying technology to project management to improve efficiency and service. 

  • A customer service oriented mindset is critical.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
