The Role:

The Senior Instructional Designer will lead the development and implementation of innovative learning solutions. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in instructional design methodologies, coupled with a deep understanding of adult learning principles. This role entails collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and deliver engaging, learner-centered content that meets business objectives. The Senior Instructional Designer will leverage their expertise to drive the creation of high-quality, scalable learning experiences for both instructor-led and self-paced learning activities including eLearning and other digital learning.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform needs analysis and work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop learning/education solutions that address knowledge/skill gaps within the organization.
  • Apply instructional design theories, practice, and methods to create compelling content to build skill and enhance employee engagement.
  • Design, develop and maintain training curriculum, in a variety of modern learning formats including eLearning, micro-learning, video, instructor lead, job aids/quick reference guides, infographics, evaluations, instructor/participant guides and other visuals for use in a variety of settings (learning management system, classroom and virtual).
  • Maintain learning content standards – formatting, branding, naming, filing, and archiving.
  • Create and maintain eLearning design; identify course purpose, outline objective(s), align content with objectives, determine learning format to facilitate learning and include engaging activities.
  • Ability to develop a project plan that meets defined learning objectives.
  • Maintain and update existing content to ensure materials stay current.
  • Write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Evaluate training impact to identify opportunities to improve outcomes.
  • Assist in marketing various training solutions to the intended audience.
  • Other essential functions and duties, as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Someone with previous graphic design experience.
  • Expert use of Captivate, Articulate Rise and Articulate Storyline.
  • Audio and video editing skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite needed. 
  • Knowledge of learning management system(s). Workday experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles and ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized and process oriented.
  • Strong customer services skills to work collaboratively with SMEs regarding learning projects.
  • Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate.
  • Creative problem solver with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at handling multiple competing priorities while adhering to strict timelines.
  • Well versed in the latest technological advancements and innovations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in a related field (e.g., Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Education Technology) preferred.
  • Related instructional design certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience with curriculum strategy development, instructional design, course development and project management.
