Haynes and Boone’s Dallas-North office serves clients throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, nationally and internationally. Our office includes a large group of the firm's intellectual property and patent professionals, along with corporate, security, and technology law professionals. Our team members handle complex patent trial matters, including inter partes review proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and many of our attorneys are nationally recognized in this area of law. Our Dallas-North lawyers also counsel clients in patent strategy, patent prosecution and portfolio management, licensing, and litigation. The HRIS Manager is an essential contributor to the successful configuration, administration and support of our core HCM system, Workday, and will act as the subject matter expert for Workday and supporting applications. As part of the Human Resources team, this position is hands-on and will conduct business process analysis and configuration, resolve functional and technical issues, manage projects, and will regularly interact with multiple departments and all levels of the firm. To be successful, you must have excellent communication and customer service skills, strong knowledge of Workday, and a desire to provide solutions.
Essential Duties

Create and maintain roadmap of projects and enhancements and effectively communicate timelines and progress updates to stakeholders.

Partner with departments to manage the planning, configuration and testing for annual projects, such as performance and compensation cycles, open enrollment, ACA, and payroll year-end.

Diagnose issues and provide solutions by troubleshooting, determining the root cause, and recommending end-to-end solutions. Ensure solutions align with firm policies and procedures and with regulatory/industry standards.

Anticipate needs across functions to influence the roadmaps of other groups, taking ownership of necessary actions to address employee needs and deliver a successful product.

Create new and maintain existing integrations between Workday and internal and external systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues when needed.

Lead projects using project management best practices, including gathering requirements, planning, configuration, identifying and mitigating risks, conducting user acceptance testing, change management and working with teams to meet established deadlines.

Communicate with departments across the firm to recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency through automation.

Manage new system releases to understand and communicate new functionality and how it can best be implemented within the firm.

Create reports, dashboards, and analytics for firm management and consult with internal departments on their reporting and data needs.

Create and maintain process and training documentation. Conduct training and knowledge transfer to share best practices and lessons learned from projects, Workday Community, webinars, etc.

Develop and perform regular audits to maintain quality, consistency, and integrity of systems and data.

Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and changes.

Manage security configuration and assignments within the system.

Participate actively in Workday Community and other available resources to enhance system knowledge, research solutions, contribute to brainstorms, and build a network of peers to share best practices and solutions.

Maintain the team’s internal ticket log with statuses and notes on tickets and projects.

Handle sensitive and confidential data with care and only when necessary, ensuring appropriate security measures are taken to protect data privacy.

Serve as vendor liaison with those who are assisting with enhancements and maintenance of Workday.

Reporting Relationship
HRIS Manager reports directly to the Manager of Human Resources.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Skills and Experience:

5+ years supporting Workday, including advanced knowledge of Benefits, Payroll, Reporting, and Integrations. Workday certifications are a plus.

Proven skill in building reports and dashboards to make relevant data easily accessible to firm management and end-users.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.

Ability to speak to technical aspects of systems and work with both technical and non-technical users throughout projects.

Strong organization and project management skills to effectively balance competing priorities while adhering to deadlines and remaining calm under pressure.

Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels across the firm and deliver excellent customer service with a focus on exceeding expectations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Familiarity with HR functional practices is preferred.

Experience using Smartsheet is a plus.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the office up to 20% of the time.  Remains stationary up to 80% of the time. Operates computers and other office equipment (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) regularly. Requires constant communication and exchange of information. Must be able to analyze and observe information on a computer screen at least 85% of the time.
