Job Objective:
Responsible for managing benefits administration including relationship with third party vendors, compliance with laws and regulations, employee benefit records, data analytics reporting to management, and providing timely guidance around all benefit programs for approximately 3,300+ employees at various multi-state locations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in benefit administration management to ensure positive employee experience.
- Manages third party benefits relationships assigned and partners with them to resolve issues, implement new plans, and maintain enrollment.
- Assists in benefit plan administration in accordance with IRS and ERISA rules.
- Assists in ensuring compliance with governmental agencies and preparing required filings and disclosures (i.e., Form 5500s, Annual Funding Notice, SARs, and SPDs).
- Provides guidance to employees on all benefit related matters (i.e., coverage, eligibility, and resolution of issues).
- Maintains and ensures accuracy of employee benefit records within Benefits Administration software (Workday) for new hires and ongoing employees including qualifying life events, enrollments, and EOI’s.
- Conducts routine and ad hoc audits of employee eligibility ensuring that eligibility and enrollment are correct across both internal and external systems.
- Creates, reviews and maintains employee communication within SharePoint, monthly newsletters, TV Screens, Total Reward documents and other modes as needed.
- Conducts new hire benefit orientation, Open Enrollment and general Benefits education sessions.
- Coordinates with third party on Medicare Part D Creditable coverage testing.
- Administers 401k plan, including coordinating non-discrimination testing and related audit.
- Assists with termination processes , including benefit termination letters and retirement discussions.
- Assists with designing and delivering Total Rewards communications, including ensuring completeness and accuracy of the data.
- Administers the implementation, rollout, and training of new benefit programs assigned.
- Processes all recurring invoices to ensure timely payment and tracking of benefit statistical data.
- Participates in acquisitions and the related on-boarding process, ensuring timely enrollment.
- Provides education, coaching, and consultation to HR team in order to resolve escalated employee benefit issues.
- Travel required approximately 20-25% per year.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of specialist experience, preferably in Health & Welfare and Retirement benefit plans with ERISA and defined contribution plan knowledge.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), experience with HRIS, preferably Workday products.
- Experience with vendor management and program implementation.
- Strong project management and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Deep understanding of data transmission processes and aptitude to identify and resolve enrollment, eligibility, and payroll issues.
- Ability to influence, interact and work effectively across benefits and related functions.
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and evolving environment.
- Effective communication skills, oral & written, with ability to communicate with people in potentially stressful situations and across all levels of the organization.

- Required: Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Preferred: Master’s Degree
