Payroll Analyst (Heredia, Costa Rica)

Huntsman Advanced Materials Division is seeking a US Payroll Analyst supporting the GBS in Costa Rica.  This position will report to HRSSC Manager in Costa Rica.

In summary, as the Payroll Analyst, you will: 

  • Carry out activities of personal management involving payroll such as reporting of payroll incidences of employees, registering control of work hours, payroll checker including the validation of the calculation of social charges, income tax, holidays, severance payments, income information provided by the external payroll vendor, in accordance with corporate policy, procedures and objectives.
  • Deliver all data information to prepare the payroll.
  • Manage payroll processing for US, Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico employees.
  • Be the company point of contact for payroll audits as an intermediary between the auditors and the external payroll vendor.
  • Understand HR disciplines and the applications of well-defined techniques and procedures for instance HR activities related to employment of labor regulations from United States of America, Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Industrial Engineering or any and/or any other work equivalent incumbent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (C1).
  • 3+ years of experience executing US payroll activities in an equivalent business environment.
  • 1+ year of Workday experience is required.
  • Understand HR activities related to employment of labor regulations from Costa Rica
  • Advance excel knowledge.
  • A valid passport and US Visa through 2024, Strongly preferred as role is required to travel to the USA periodically, especially during transition.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in US Payroll activities.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
  • Understand HR activities related to employment of labor regulations from US, Colombia and Mexico (desired).
  • Service Now knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Experience in GBS process migrations.
