The Recruitment and Retention Manager at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System is responsible for developing and executing innovative strategies to attract and retain top talent within a competitive healthcare industry. This role demands creativity and adaptability to address talent acquisition and retention challenges effectively. The Recruitment and Retention Manager will collaborate with HR team members and other stakeholders to enhance workforce readiness and maintain a competitive edge.

Essential Responsibilities:

Recruitment Strategy:

  • Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates using both traditional and innovative methods.
  • Partner with department leaders to create targeted recruitment campaigns and job descriptions.
  • Facilitate training for hiring leaders on best practices for candidate selection, including resume screening, interviewing, and offer management.
  • Oversee the optimization of Workday HCM as the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to enhance efficiency in the recruitment process.
  • Train new and existing hiring managers on utilizing Workday HCM effectively.

Retention Programs:

  • Analyze turnover metrics to understand patterns and reasons for team member departures. Develop strategies based on this data to improve retention.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and address retention challenges.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between retention strategies and engagement initiatives.

Student Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students performing rotations at HRMC, ensuring a supportive environment for their professional development.
  • Coordinate with educational institutions to facilitate student integration into the healthcare setting and provide feedback.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with HR team members and other stakeholders to align recruitment and retention strategies with organizational goals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitive practices, and use this knowledge to drive innovative approaches in recruitment and retention.

Data and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment and retention activities, tracking metrics such as time-to-fill, turnover rates, and team member satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on recruitment and retention trends and opportunities, using data to drive improvements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment and retention program independently, focusing on creative problem-solving and strategic execution.
  • Ensure alignment of recruitment and retention strategies with organizational goals and workforce readiness.
  • Maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive staffing matters.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in recruitment and retention, ideally within a healthcare environment; or
  • Significant experience (5+ years) in recruitment and retention or a related HR role within a healthcare system, in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

Additional Experience:

  • Experience with Workday HCM or similar HRIS platforms, including a focus on system optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Additional experience in healthcare recruitment and retention, particularly in a management role.
  • Advanced proficiency with Workday HCM or other Applicant Tracking Systems.
