The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization in Richmond, VA, is hiring for an Accounting Specialist!
In this role, you will prepare and enter journal entries in the Workday accounting system relating to month-end closing (field medical allocation and grants to field), adjusting and reallocation journal entries. You will also reconcile bank accounts, as assigned; including researching outstanding items and analyzing discrepancies.Â

Responsibilities:

Reconcile assigned bank accounts in Workday, on a timely basis. Â

Communicate and follow up with other staff members regarding missing, outstanding, and/or open items on the reconciliations that require correction or an adjusting journal entry.

Review the revenue gift balances with trial balance report and correct remittances.Â

Book journal entry to correct fund, revenue, or expense account as appropriate.Â

Prepare and enter journal entries for monthly field benefit allocations, grants to field, adjusting entries, computer provisioning reclass journals, hunger and relief project funding and others, as requested.

Research and respond to inquiries regarding accounting transactions. Â
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ideally in Accounting or Business

2-3 years experience

Bank reconciliation and journal entry experience, required

Workday experience, preferred.
