The Workday Developer provides technical, integration, security, system development, reporting and analytical support of Workday. Possessing an extensive development background and a strong knowledge of Workday Studio, Workday Extend, Workday Security and Workday Orchestration.
Hours: Full Time, Fully Remote

Responsibilities:
- Support all Workday Integrations and tools including Core Connectors, use of RaaS, Web Services & Workday API(s), Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs), and requires a deep knowledge of Workday Studio, integration & report Security, and report building expertise as required for Integrations.Â
- This role adds value to the organization by using development skills to support other Workday Systems and Product Analysts with Workday user-based and role-based security requests, business process configurations, and future Workday enhancements.
- Participating in all aspects of the Workday system, including requirements gathering and analysis, functional and technical design, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
Integration & Extend Development:Â
- Use a strong development background to help gather requirements and create APPs using Workday Extend and Workday Orchestration in order to provide Applications to improve efficiencies and save time for our end users.
- Supports all Workday Integrations: Core Connectors, RaaS, Web Services, Workday API(s), Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) and Workday Studio. Integration Security and report building expertise as required for Integrations.Â
- Using a deep knowledge of XML and XSLT, Document Transformation, SOAP, and ReST based web services with regards to Workday Integrations.Â
Advanced Security Administration:
- Provides security administration support for all business areas including researching & resolving issues with role-based assignments, domains and creating custom security groups to enable business process and reporting access to cross-functional users.Â
- Leads design, creation, configuration, workflow, testing, training, auditing, implementation, and administration of Workday basic and advanced security.
- Recommends best security practices and solutions to support end to end business processes and reporting requirements.Â
- Maintains data integrity and security of the Workday system by running periodic audit reports, analyzing system usage metrics and maintains role and user-based security groups, reviewing and revising Workday system security policies and security groups in order to deliver the access required for the position’s responsibilities while protecting PII and access to information not relevant to their position and will utilize the Kainos Smart Audit Tool.
- Works with management, Human Resources, and Workday Product Analysts upon creation of new position, transfer of workers, and change of Job Family to ensure correct access when position overlaps require extended access from previous position.
Technical Support & Continuous Improvement Releases:Â
- Participates in meetings with business and/or project teams when appropriate to discuss projects, progress, and issues to be resolved.Â
- Collaborates with Product Analysts and business units to streamline processes and promote user adoption using Workday.Â
- Partners with Product Analysts and Business Units when needed to assist in design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance using Workday delivered tools.Â
- Assists team members and system users with issues by investigating problems and resolving or providing detailed recommendations on resolutions.Â
- Gathers, builds, tests, and documents technical requirements for enhancements and projects
- Responsible for Object Transportation of configuration packages from Customer Central
Workday System Administration:Â
- Provides system support for all business areas by investigating problems and resolving or providing recommendations on resolutions with Workday and/or issues with System Administration, integrations, security, and business processes plus recommendations of alternate solutions.Â
- Troubleshoots system issues and ensures appropriate parties are involved to resolve issue and collaborates with other internal/external resources to accomplish required activities.
- Creates, modifies, & supports a variety of standard and advanced reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools.Â
- Provides advanced experience with building, maintenance, documentation, calculated fields, and other advanced reporting functionality.
- Routinely works with Report Writers to ensure accuracy of data through routine data audits & validation.Â
- Prepares regularly scheduled integrations, reports and ad-hoc reporting as needed.Â
- Drive system best practices, standards, data governance, security and privacy compliance, Workday in-box and reporting operating procedures, and collaborates with Product Analysts and Business Owners to ensure integrity of the system.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferred, in Information Technology or similar
- Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a similar position supporting Workday Integrations or Workday Security or Workday Extend and possessing a Technical development background
- Workday Orchestration and Workday Extend skills are strongly preferred
- Advanced skills in Workday Studio, API(s), XML and XSLT and interaction with SOAP and ReST based web services, EIB, Core Connectors, reporting, use of RaaS, Integration Security, Calculated Fields and Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced skills in applying Role-based and User-Based Security and Domains
- Strong knowledge in supporting Workday HCM and Financials, and associated business owners preferred
- Advanced business and Workday systems analysis skills
- Intermediate skills in Agile delivery management
- Provide the highest level of customer support via internal ticketing system
- Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively and collaboratively with various business partnerships, and to promote effective collaboration between teams
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Discipline to work with highly confidential information and ability to critically analyze data input/output for accuracy and effectiveness
