Job Location:

The benefits coordinator position assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions using Workday Help. The coordinator will be responsible for responding to weekly benefit vendor file verifications and maintaining benefits brochures and communications.

Primary Accountabilities

Administrative (60%)

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims issues.
  • Respond to employee requests and maintain records in accordance with Workday processes and procedures to ensure enrollment data and premium deductions are accurate.
  • Develop working knowledge of associate total rewards programs, such as bonus plans, group health, flexible spending accounts, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Works with confidential data regarding benefits and compensation to provide administrative support to the benefits team.

Analytical (30%)

  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Assist in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Assist in completing benefits reporting requirements.

Operational (10%)

  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.
  • Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel or similar software.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is desired.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • High school diploma and two years of experience in employee benefits administration.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations would be a plus
