Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for all team members.Â
- Manage and support the payroll team, providing training, guidance, and development.Â
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.Â
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Â
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.Â
- Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.Â
- Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax filings.Â
- Develop and document payroll policies and procedures.Â
- Develop and implement reporting tools to streamline payroll processes.Â
- Maintain a high level of customer service through timely resolution of escalated issues.Â
- Assist with research and resolution of complex payroll related matters.Â
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items.Â
- Support the Payroll Director in managing multiple project deliverables on time.Â
- Completes ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.Â
Education & Experience QualificationsÂ
- High school diploma requiredÂ
- Undergraduate/Graduate degree in business, accounting, or related field preferredÂ
- Experience (3-5 years) in multi-state full cycle payroll with an emphasis on delivering cross-functional project management requiredÂ
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred, but not requiredÂ
- Experience with Workday or comparable software requiredÂ
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesÂ
- Strong computer skillsÂ
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, MacrosÂ
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsÂ
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detailÂ
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and meet critical deadlinesÂ
- Ability to work in a highly structured team environmentÂ
- Ability to maintain strict adherence to outlined proceduresÂ
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuationsÂ
