Job Purpose

The HR Analytics Analyst II is a critical member of the HR Analytics team which delivers analytics insights that inform strategic decisions, enable workforce planning, and enhance enterprise capabilities. This role is responsible for delivering insights on the state and health of the organization, modeling systems in order to predict outcomes and prescribe courses of action, predicting talent outcomes, and improving the associate experience. This role serves as a trusted partner to Human Resources and the business in delivering analytical insights, integrating new data and new technologies, and prescribed courses of action to improve the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Employs Agile methodology to develop and deliver business diagnostics, reporting, and advanced analytic capabilities utilizing HR and other data elements and a variety of analytical and visualization tools.

  • Executes overall strategy and roadmap for analytics capabilities for the HR function. Develops and deploys automated tools and dashboards to HR and business leaders globally around key workforce metrics.

  • Partners with HR and other leaders to understand the desired metrics and develop reporting capabilities across the organization.

  • Confers with various levels of management to clarify and expand on project scope. This includes business consultants, HR leaders, and business unit leaders.

  • Identifies appropriate data requirements, gathers and validates information for modeling/simulation/analytics in support of business processes across the organization. Assists with quality control by cleaning, joining, updating, and refining data sets and engaging in testing and other QA activities.

  • Leads/executes/contributes to the development and maintenance of descriptive, diagnostic, prescriptive, and predictive reporting and visualizations.

  • Applies data-analytic techniques to analyze, visualize, and summarize complex data to draw conclusions. Creates engaging data visualizations that aide decision-makers in their tasks based on data.

  • Designs, deploys, and optimizes reports and dashboards leveraging Tableau, Workday Prism, and other tools.

  • Creates models that describe and predict business costs and resources.

  • Builds expertise in sophisticated statistical analysis (e.g. regression analysis, factor analysis, predictive modeling) and applies analytical techniques to draw inferences and conclusions from analysis (e.g. hypothesis testing).

  • Consults with, recommends, and presents statistical findings to business consultants and senior management regarding existing process metrics and possible process alternatives in an effort to support key business decisions.

  • Develops a deep understanding of business operations and challenges, driving adoption and communication of analytics products and services. Translate advanced analytical outcomes into intuitive narratives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with MS Access, VBA, SAS, SPSS, Python, R (or other statistical software) and/or SQL, including complex, multi-table queries and reporting is strongly desired.

  • Experience with and basic knowledge of Agile methodology preferred.

  • Education and/or experience with statistical analysis, business modeling, forecasting and/or simulation methods preferred.

  • Ability to follow project plans and support projects through completion.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Ability to write and interpret business requirements documents, technical designs and test plans.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop professional relationships at all levels of the business.

  • Strong background in application development, specifically Access and SQL programming, and proficiency in Excel macro creation and VBA coding.

  • Strong knowledge of data preparation and architecture.

  • Demonstrated competency in data visualization and analytic software.

  • Familiarity with the development of process workflow models.

  • Knowledge of HR information systems.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative field (e.g., Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Math, Applied Engineering) and/or equivalent experience required.

  • 5+ years relevant work experience required.
