We’re looking for an excited, highly motivated professional to dive in, contribute, and impact the learning and development programs as our next Training Specialist. This role is perfect for those interested in learning and organizational development and willing to quickly learn and grow within our Human Resources team! The Training Specialist serves as the Learning Management (LMS) expert and go-to partner across all channels at JOANN, supports our learning & organizational development programs, coordinates activities and events, designs and leads field leader onboarding, oversees Omni Fulfillment Center (OFC) orientation and training tracking, and collaborates with leaders across the company to provide sound technical training materials. This person should be excited to pitch in wherever needed – on projects big and small, learn different skills and tools, work both collaboratively and independently, and be part of creating a culture that values its Team Members and makes them excited to come to work every day! The person in this role supports all levels and areas of the organization, from the retail stores to the distribution centers and Omni Fulfillment Center and then to the corporate Store Support Center (SSC). Additionally, the individual in this role may be part of cross-functional project teams responsible for planning Team Member events, learning and development events, and other ad-hoc needs.

Principal Duties

Learning Management System Administration: Become the expert in our LMS and troubleshoot issues. Monitor Training Mailbox to field and address Team Member questions revolving around learning and development activities. Create courses and managing enrollment, communication, and configuration. Create and distribute training compliance reports for all channels. 35%

Support learning and development programs, events, and activities: Schedule field leader orientation. Drive in-person and virtual culture events and leadership meetings. Learn to use the Audiovisual equipment and assist in running events behind-the-scenes to deliver a smooth, engaging Team Member experience. Work closely with the event planning team to create an engaging Team Member experience for each of our corporate cultural events and leadership events. 25%

Design and implement Learning Content: Partner with Subject Matter Experts to provide technical training in the form of eLearning, videos, job aids, manuals, etc. Serve as a learning partner by giving recommendations and deliver materials that are learner-friendly. Learn to implement learning principles to create materials that promote clear understanding, retention, and application of the training content. Develop graphic design skills to make the content engaging and easy to understand. 40%

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Be a quick and avid learner who is constantly looking to grow and not afraid to try new skills and technologies (i.e., Workday Learning Management System, Adobe, Articulate)

Be highly organized and detail oriented

Possess exemplary written and verbal communication skills and has an ability to cater the message based on the audience

MS Office and Adobe Suite experience is a plus.

Rise to the challenge of having multiple active tasks or projects at any given time, and show an ability to prioritize and multi-task

Education and Experience Requirements

Education Minimum: Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

Experience Minimum: 0-2 years
