The Director of Talent Growth and Development for KAR Global will lead the charge to deliver highly effective talent, learning, and performance initiatives.  The Director will deliver operational excellence at both the strategic and tactical levels.  Reporting to the Vice President of Talent Development and HR Shared Services, this individual will be responsible for initiatives to develop talent at all levels of KAR Global, driving talent strategies that fuel growth and lead to highly engaged teams.


  • Direct the collaborative design, development, and implementation of learning and organizational development programs including talent management, leadership development, high potential development, succession management, change management, and career paths
  • Drive execution of the Talent Management strategy, integrating best practices/trends and performing analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing talent management processes and programs
  • Identify organization-wide and business unit-specific learning and development needs; develop and implement strategically aligned initiatives to create, lead, and grow world-class training and development programs
  • Global process owner for Workday Talent Management & Learning
  • Ensure all training and development programs are consistent with KAR Global values and actively support diversity and inclusion strategies
  • Establish and expand training and development programs to enable the leaders, managers, and employees of KAR Global in their personal and professional growth
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders to identify talent and succession gaps within the organization; implement solutions to reskill and/or upskill the KAR Global workforce to meet current and future needs
  • Provide consultation and oversight in all talent processes, such as succession management, talent assessment, training and development, and career management
  • Partner with HRBPs to understand and advise on specific talent development needs and ensure learning solutions support business objectives
  • Ensure high potential and emerging key talent data is captured during the performance review process and incorporated into development programming
  • Measure and report on the success of programs through clearly defined metrics; take appropriate action based on insights
  • Manage and lead the talent management team responsible for onboarding, delivery of learning, professional development, and talent management processes
  • Develop and drive communication, awareness, and support of Talent initiatives and expectations throughout KAR Global
  • Partner with the Engagement team to develop and manage a comprehensive onboarding and new hire experience designed to equip employees with a strong foundational understanding of the KAR Global culture, businesses, and job responsibilities


  • 10 years of progressive Human Resources/Talent Management experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in organization development/effectiveness, talent management, leadership development, and internal company business consulting
  • Deep proficiency in pragmatically applying organization development theories, philosophies, and methods to develop solutions addressing leadership development needs
  • Proven ability to assess trends and provide innovative solutions
  • Ability to design curricula and content, assesses and coach at all levels of the organization
  • Able to collaborate effectively and thrive in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR/OD, Business, or related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning practices, leadership development approaches, and instructional design
  • Demonstrated project management skills and technically savvy
