We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a Regional HR Manager with experience in employee relations, strategic business partnerships, and North American policies, laws and regulations. In this role you will serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting policies, and resolving work-related problems to ensure effective employee relations.  You will also implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, build the talent of the workforce, and positively impact overall business performance. The ideal candidate will have three years of previous exempt Human Resources management level experience.

You Are:

  • Strategic. Advise, assist, and recommend to management performance improvement planning, disciplinary procedures, and terminations for employees as needed.
  • Educative. Educate employees on company policies. This includes but is not limited to eligibility for and accrual of benefits such as sick time, vacation, short and long-term disability, and holiday pay. Conduct manager and employee training sessions as needed.
  • Dynamic. You are a vital link between leadership and our employees, where you will develop and foster a positive, healthy, and enthusiastic work environment. You will practice sound leadership and human relations principles.
  • Experienced. You will handle and resolve employee relations issues to ensure compliance with company policy as well as legal ramifications. This includes reviewing employee complaints and conducting internal investigations partnering with management staff to resolve issues as needed.

You Will:

  • Develop an understanding of the region’s business and goals. Translate business requirements into a people strategy for the development of needed programs.
  • Partner with leaders in socializing, tracking progress, and managing change associated with programs.
  • Build solid relationships with leaders and management teams. Consult with, advise, and support transformation and change initiatives, people decisions and actions, talent management and development, org design, reward optimization, workforce planning, HR info and analysis, culture management, diversity, and HR programs and services.
  • Serve as an expert on human resources issues, employee relations issues, and/or employee concerns regarding established and non-established procedures. 
  • Identify emerging human resource challenges within the team and serve as a change agent to sponsor and create improvement solutions with business impact.
  • Drive engagement strategy and activities to ensure a “great to place work” environment and consistent improvement of employee net promoter scores
  • Understand talent demand and supply in the segment. Work with talent acquisition resources to create and execute on a plan to meet business requirements, working closely with the functional leaders where responsibilities intersect.

Who You Will Work With:

  • Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources this role will collaborate with a peer Regional HR Manager, other HR departments, and AFC leadership daily.

Must Have’s:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience required; PHR preferred.
  • At least three years of previous exempt Human Resources management level experience is required. 
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of employee administration and excellent interpersonal, and human relations skills including confidentiality, trust, credibility, objectivity, adaptability, and a sense of urgency are required. 

Nice to Have’s:

  • Previous experience in supporting a large, decentralized field staff is preferred.   
  • Workday experience preferred.
