Central Indiana candidate strongly preferred. You will be able to work a hybrid schedule each week between home and our Global Headquarters in Carmel, IN. We’re also open to this role being 100% remote.

KAR is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to drive the evolution of our tech recruitment function.  The Talent Acquisition Manager (Technology) is responsible for leading a team of talent acquisition partners in the execution of recruiting strategies to support KAR Global’s IT/Technology positions across the U.S. and Canada. In addition to planning and administration of hiring efforts, the Talent Acquisition Manager will lead and participate in projects to meet organizational strategic objectives, develop sourcing strategies to attract quality talent, and effectively use learnings from HR data and analytics. This role will partner with HR and business unit leaders to ensure a collaborative and integrated team environment with a strong service-oriented culture.  The Talent Acquisition Manager is based in Indianapolis and reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources – Technology, with a dotted line to the VP of Talent Experience.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Partner with business leaders to source and assess talent for open positions. Influence hiring managers, leaders, and business partners on adopting talent acquisition strategies and processes that produce the best hiring decisions

  • Regularly assess workload and progress and adjusts approach as needed to ensure SLAs are met

  • Review trends and leverages knowledge, data, and competitive intelligence to develop creative, customized sourcing strategies. Effectively navigates and determines alternative options for challenging positions

  • Ensure consistent recruitment processes, tools and assessments to drive thorough evaluation of talent. Measures and assesses quality of hires. Implements methods for continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to manage workforce planning and strategic pipeline planning efforts

  • Partner to differentiate KAR and its affiliated business units as an employer of choice to execute on website and job board content, candidate communications, diversity initiatives, onsite or campus events, and other employer branding initiatives

  • Partner with HRIS to configure Workday to deliver a positive, streamlined candidate experience, gain process efficiencies, and leverage data

  • Continuously improve our approach to recruiting by identifying unique and non-traditional sources to find top talent

  • Monitor candidate experience survey results and implement actions to address areas of opportunity

  • Ensure all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations relative to hiring and employment practices are understood, adhered to, tracked, and, as necessary, reported on from both a U.S. and Canada perspective

  • Leverage Talent Acquisition Manager peers to share best practice and drive continual team performance improvement
     

Skills and Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field

  • 5-7 years of direct experience in full-cycle recruiting, with 3+ years in IT/Technology strongly preferred

  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to create strategic talent acquisition strategies and solutions based on data and research

  • Strong understanding of full lifecycle recruitment processes and compliance requirements

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (Workday experience preferred)

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management skills; detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and focus, with the ability to positively interact with all levels in the organization

  • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g., social media recruiting and Boolean search)

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with immigration hiring processes and requirements is a plus

  • Experience navigating a matrixed environment (multi-site, multi-state, multi-national organization) is preferred

  • Demonstrates sound judgement and is resourceful, self-motivated and self-reliant

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Experience influencing and strategically solving problems

  • Current knowledge of federal legislation as it pertains to recruitment practices

  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills with the ability to juggle multiple demands to achieve tight deadline

  • Strong organizational, facilitation and project management skills, with a keen attention to detail and quality outputs

  • A data-driven mindset, leveraging metrics to inform recruitment strategies and measure outcomes
