Kemper is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join our team as a Contractor. You can work from ANYWHERE!! The role of the contract sourcing specialist is an integral part of Kemper’s recruiting team and will serve as a critical enabler of our on-going ability to successfully support our business.  We have a need for an experienced temporary sourcer who is a strong hunter and has excellent experience with candidate development. Our recruiting team represents our firm’s culture; we are hands-on and entrepreneurial.   We pride ourselves in our ability to identify strong talent and the satisfaction of working alongside some of the brightest experts in our industry.  As such, this individual will be a member of a highly capable, highly engaged recruiting team. 

The team works directly with business managers, leaders, and the broader Human Resources group to support the hiring managers with their talent acquisition needs.  Ultimately, you will be responsible for building a strong talent pipeline for our company’s current and future staffing needs.


  • Use social media networks (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter) to look for and connect with potential candidates
  • Develop and implement numerous sourcing strategies including referral generation, direct sourcing, and networking to improve candidate development in support of business needs. 
  • Review online portfolios and resumes to pre-screen candidates
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiters to identify each position’s requirements
  • Send recruiting emails and follow up with candidates
  • Ask for referrals from internal and external networks for hard-to-fill roles
  • Contact past applicants for new job opportunities
  • Develop a network of potential candidates and industry professionals
  • Log candidate information in our Applicant Tracking System and other internal databases
  • Identify future hiring needs and proactively source potential hires
  • Measure and report on recruiting metrics, like source of hire and time-to-fill


  • Proven work experience as a Sourcing Specialist, Sourcer or similar role
  • Ability to understand changing market dynamics and subsequently be creative in finding candidates to fit those parameters.  
  • A superior sense of urgency with the demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Strong business acumen; fluent grasp of issues impacting the insurance industry.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced environment and adapt to change quickly.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday (or other ATS), CRM and proficient with Excel.
  • Experienced with social networks, professional sites and resume databases
  • Good knowledge of labor legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (particularly business email writing knowledge)
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to handle various open positions simultaneously
