Director, Organizational Effectiveness

The Director of Organizational Effectiveness leads and manages the Organizational Effectiveness and Learning & Development functions within Land O’Lakes. This role is responsible for bringing a strategic, innovative, and customer centric approach to these functions that positions Land O’Lakes and its employees for success both now and in the future.  This position works closely with other HR and executive leaders as a member of the HR Leadership Team to enhance performance and develop capability at the individual, team, organization, and enterprise levels.  This position reports to the head of Talent Management and supervises experienced managers with team members across the areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively assesses needs at enterprise, organization, team, retailer/members and individual levels, and uses data to drive decisions, design programs and processes to effectively and efficiently address those needs

  • Provide tools, consult on business needs, approaches; develop OE skill set in HR team. 

  • Organization Effectiveness

    • Consults with human resources and business leaders and facilitates customized engagements / interventions to drive strategy execution, achieve transformational business results, sustainable culture change and build leader / organizational capability.

    • Develops organization alignment and change strategies using established company-wide OE, alignment and change frameworks and assets; leverages models and tools to create a shared mindset, language and approach

  • Learning & Development

    • Develops high impact learning and development experiences that drive performance and productivity throughout diverse audiences and career stages; works with HR and business leaders to plan and execute leadership development strategies and programs. Measures impact.

    • Is responsible for the design, development, purchase, facilitation, marketing, administration and evaluation of learning programs and assets for the enterprise.

    • Designs and deploys resources and programs that support leadership development and build capability including officers, high-potential and front-line leaders.


  • Strong expertise in Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management and Learning & Development

  • Experience with Organizational Design principles

  • Consulting and contracting skills

  • Proven success in building stakeholder alignment and engagement

  • Collaborative partner across all levels

  • Systemic thinker; able to balance strategic thought leadership and hands-on execution

  • Resourceful, agile, and creative with strong problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and listening skills

  • Analytical skills and data driven decision making

  • Strong external relationships and networks

  • Budget, including P&L, and vendor management

Required Education and Experience:

  • 10 + years combined experience in Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management and Learning & Development

  • Master’s Degree in a related field (e.g. Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Leadership, Adult Learning)

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with Workday Learning and Degreed or other LMS/LXP platforms

  • External consulting experience

Travel required: 20%
