Job Description:
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, document, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget and schedule. This includes allocating resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, other departments’ resources, and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience:
- University degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related technology field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
- LEED Accredited Professional certification strongly preferred.
- Five (5) years of work experience as a Project Manager, leading projects in facilities operations and development environments, including:
- Managing construction projects up to $30M in value.
- Managing facilities infrastructure and space upgrades.
- Managing facilities operations projects as required.
- Demonstrated experience with agile and iterative project management methodologies.
- Experience managing projects in Post-Secondary Institutions is strongly preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar tools.
- Experience with productivity tools such as Microsoft Teams, AutoCAD, Sharepoint, Workday, Adaptive Planning, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with all aspects of business process development and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in personnel management is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in both highly technical and non-technical environments with all levels of the organization. Effective presentation communication skills required and able to clearly explain concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to direct complex projects, including developing proposals, setting budgets, project planning and implementation.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, faculty, employees, students, facilities and security staff, vendors, other institutions, external agencies and/or the public.

Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).Â
